hi, she needs to go to the bursers office at the uni (or a local chemist) and ask for a HC1 form, this will allow her to apply for a HC2 certificate, which is for people on low incomes, and will give her free prescriptions and help with other health costs. just beware not all students get this, my sister couldn't get one when she was a student teacher even though she didn't work!!!0

Thanx
Yes she already filled in the HC1 form and I'm gobsmacked that shes not fully covered. I left a message in the student money saving thread on here but she gets no help from anywhere else, I'm out of work through illness and she has no contact with her father. I'm really shocked because I know her situation. Shes going to ask them to look at it again. It says on the back of the letter that its based on student income such as loans, money from parents ect after deductions for books and travel but I know for sure that form didnt ask about book costs or travel costs so they couldnt have taken that into consideration
I'll check that link out about health care costs thanxThanx
