LAX Hotels

Could anyone recommend a hotel near Los Angeles airport? Travelling in just over a week and becoming confused with Priceline and Hotwire and Trip Advisor and star ratings!! So long as its clean and has a shuttle service - anyone recently visited? Thanks sch

  • Hi
All the usual USA hotels have shuttles which are free to and from airport, I stayed in Holiday Inn and was well looked after, single girl on own etc.
May be cheaper just contacting hotels directly and they will be able to tell you what is close etc although my Holidday Inn was quite a way out I was able to get a bus outside with a day pass and travel all over LA and everyone was so helpful, in fact when I missed my last bus back the lady driver of the bus stopped bus for me and took me back in her merc!!!
I also found some locals who took me to Venice Beach and a fiesta downtown so don't be afraid to ask locals for help!!
If you have time go to Getty Museum which is free, im not into art but the views were amazing..
Rodeo drive is a good walk through to spot celebs and of course hollywood and some of the beaches....
Soz im goin on, just put in search for LAX hotels:beer:

    Have you read my guides?

If you need a shuttle service then Hotwire is your best bet.

You cannot ask for a certain service e.g. shuttle with Priceline hotels but you could research to see what comes up.

What date and star rating do you want?

Yes blindman i have read your thread -thats what got me interested in bidding for a room, also took your advice and joined betterbidding site, but im thick and dont know how to get on to ask advice from thereuare, frightened i will end up in a zone miles from where i want to be, never travelled alone before!! I need a room Sunday 24/8/ for 2 nights, then i am meeting my son and travelling to Vegas for 3 nts (all booked), we will also require a room at LAX for 1 night on our return Friday29th. We are then travelling to beaches at Newport and Laguna, been trying to find hotels in this area also but very expensive, more i look at Tripadvisor, more confused i become - same hotel gets really good reviews and someone states -they found a rat!! Im starting to feel out of my depth and would appreciate any recommendations. Thank you sch

Take a deep breathe and relax ;)

    1) input dates and area on Hotwire. Look at at results and compare with Betterbidding lists to see if they can be ID'd. If not then ask thereuare.

    2) Once Id'd then check any reviews on Betterbidding or Tripadvisor.

3)Take reviews on Tripadvisor with a pinch of salt. More people complain than praise.

Thanks to sturll, visited this site, Hilton Garden Inn El Segundo looks ideal, priced at almost $400 for two nights, bit pricey at this - can i ask who you book it through? sch

Had a quick look on Hotwire for your dates and LAX

4* looks like the Westin at $89 +tax per night

3.5* may be the Hilton at $77

3* could be the Crowne Plaza at LAX at $79

Would need more time to ID the 2.5* at $79

Thank you once again blindman, these look to be a better price and should imagine a 3.5* is going to be a decent standard, just got to pluck up the nerve to do it now! sch

You could always try with Hotwire for the Friday 29th as a "tester"

If you win a "dump" then it's only one night.

Look at the hotwire choices for that date and then ask at betterbidding for what they think.
