does it have to be right at lax? you can jump on a supershuttle for a few dollars and go elsewhere easily
  • FWIW, I have just booked the La Quinta Inn and Suites at LAX for a trip in September. By using the current https://www.hotelclub.co.uk offer (£25 or $49 instant credit for registering) and booking via hotelclub.co.uk, the hotel room cost me $89 including all taxes and charges. This is a pretty good deal for LAX hotels, which can be very variable indeed in quality (hence on this occasion I did not go the priceline/hotwire route). I like the La Quinta chain as a value option, the rooms are modern, comfy and free breakfast and wifi is always handy. It has a free airport shuttle. Reviews on tripadvisor are good for that price range. Its definitely worth considering using the hotelclub offer. I also like the Hilton Garden Inn at El Segundo but it used to be cheaper and is now consistently at least $135 a night due to its popularity - which is starting to look a bit expensive for a simple airport stopover.

    Good spot.
If one can get a good rate with the hotel club discount then go for it.

I have stayed at various La Quintas (through PL) and have never been disappointed.

May be worth doing for the 2 night stay. For the one night stay I'd still go with Hotwire or PL so as to get a feel for the process.

    Horses for courses.

Also joined hotel.club and got offer of $49 (thanks MSE) To xkiwi did your booking include airport shuttle to La Quinta, thought i would also book this hotel, looks good, but no mention of transfers, looked in faq and says hotel charges a fee for this service.Me and son arrive different times, so will need to use twice, trying to find out if there is a cost. Did not get to final booking stage, so please could you reply if it was included in booking. Many thanks sch

Thanks to sturll, visited this site, Hilton Garden Inn El Segundo looks ideal, priced at almost $400 for two nights, bit pricey at this - can i ask who you book it through? sch

I usually book direct and have to admit its not usually that expensive. I seem to recall i usually pay $120 for the night.
Another great thing about this hotel is that about 100yds away there is a small collection of steakhouses, liquer stores etc... If you arent driving it is right underneath the station for the metro.
If you dont manage to find a price that suits you then i certainly advise you stay in the El Segundo area. Its quiet (in comparison) and very easy to get to LAX.
