Its just a phone call, I'd do it anyway. 5 minutes of your time on the offchance it goes through seems worth it.

Certainly, if you don't try you'll never know... I say this from my lovely house, bought with Ownhome's help!

To be honest i am in the London area and no. 541 on the waiting list !! - if i was anyone at this stage - bearing in mind the scheme is to be scrapped - i personally would not bother. What area are you from ? As I have already said in a previous thread its a great shame this good scheme is finishing BUT thats the Government for you :( They want to encourage everyone to be crap newbuilds - that the builders can also screw you with over their pricing i.e. ALWAYS an overpriced newbuild - takes 5 years to catch up with the rest of the local market. Ozzy

Essex, you've confirmed what I was thinking. Thanks.

You're so lucky to be in there already! wish I was writing this from my house, I have just been waiting now for what seems forever it's alost like it's never going to happen and I don't think I'll quite believe it when it does.

well all monies have now been approved it's onto the solicitor to arrange exchange and completion.
This signature was previously violated by my wife, that'll learn me to stay perma logged in.

Fortunately, the offending comments have now been removed - my apologies to all who had to read it and laugh at my expense.

dont worry iam in the same boat as you. basically everything is finished just waiting for exchange and it just seems like never happening. In my part it is the lawyers that are taking lots of time exchanging questions between themselves. I was really hoping to complete this month but seems like will stretch til middle of next month.

think it all works a bit differently with part buy part rent so probably best to find the specific forum for that :)

well having had a slow start things suddenley seem to have started moving quite quickly! bank have said they're getting the mortgage offer out and solicitors have rang me today to say the contracts and other bits for me to sign have been posted out and they seem to think it could all be done and dusted within a month-hurray! :j

    Do I dare start thinking about furniture/paint/etc etc. . . . . . ?!!

All depends on his outgoings etc. My partner had to apply on his own as well due to my credit history not being great. He earns the same approx £18,500 and the Co-op allowed him a mortgage for £68,250. He has no debt, no overdraft and a good credit history. Places for people then allowed us to choose our equity loan between 20 - 40% - we went for 30%.

We have just gone through the mortgage application and the fee for the mortgage was about 900ish which they allowed him to add to the mortgage. We then had to pay £425 for the valuation and survey and then have the solicitors fees to pay - probably just short of £800.

Could anyone tell me...when P4P send out the letter confirming the funding has been secured on the property for 3 months - does this start from the date of the letter or when your mortgage is confirmed?

HI, thanks for that. Eek- outgoings, well he has a fair bit on credit- a loan due to end December this yr, a car over 5 years and other little piddly bits as well as the stuff in his name that I pay (catalogues etc).. eek!

That offer sounds about right for his wage- so even if he WAS offered a mortgage I guess it would be less but then how much could we expect from P4P? Sorry to be so dumb but obv. if he gets offered a mortgage (not likely if the reply about him not being in his job long is owt to go by- eek!) then the amount the co op offer would be too little to buy a house- how much would P4P be offering do you reckon? Sorry it is taking some getting my head around!

    I just want our own home!! :-( !! x

Hi everyone just to let you know that the money has run out in the south west phoned the co op this morning with my ref no and they told me they had an email yesterday saying not to process any applications in the south west how annoying. I then phoned back p4p to double check and they said this is correct i only had my call back on friday and was told there was plenty of money we then went and looked at houses found one we liked and was about to put in an offer so you can imagine how i felt when i phoned the co op to just check it was all ok and was told they are not going to process my application. Sorry to anyone who is waiting in my area it doesnt look like it will happen. It all abit upsetting.
