Sent my papers to co-op 2 weeks ago, not sure when they got them though (damn postmen!). Anyway, just talked through the application and had to give some more information. One thing I may have an issue with is I've only been in my job for 4 months so still have 2 months probation - they said in some cases this could be a problem? I've worked in the same line of work for years, just went to a better job.

Anyway, now I wait for the valuer to call me so I can give him nearly 500 notes, joy. Then its just the stupidly long wait....

The valuation bit was quite quick actually. They get the details over to the co-op the day after the visit the property!

Its everything else that seems to take a age!

  • The Co-Op told me it takes around 4 weeks for the mortgage application to be processed, the valuer to submit his report and for the unerwriters to sign it off.

Just found out that the case worker who's just been assigned to process my mortgage only works from 10am to 2pm. So does this mean I should double my wait time?!

I'm buying a new build, and the average time to complete is apparently 6 weeks max. I don't think i've got a snowflake's chance of making that, so I'm gonna have to tell my EA to keep in constant communication with the developer to keep them updated of my situation.

Any tips on keeping a developer sweet or speeding up my mortgage application?

Hi I'm new but I've been lurking a while!

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes from when you recieve the letter from p4p saying that the loan has been agreed, I understand there is a 7 day cooling off period, but after that how long?

We are renting at the moment and until the other day we were going to have to move out in a weeks time, as the house we are renting was sold, however its all fallen through now so the LL is wondering if we want to stay on, thing is we are not sure if we should agree to another month or not, the month would run from 15th Sept to 15th Oct... surely we would have exchanged by then??? p4p say we entered there system on the 4th Aug.

Luckily the people we are (hoipefully) buying from are being very understanding and are prepared to wait, had no idea it would take this long, we started this process in March!

Everyone seems to keep losing paperwork!

    Thanks in advance!

Was 4th of August the date that P4P recieved final conformation of your mortgage? If so then you're about a week ahead of me! I currently have exchanged pencilled in for w/c 21st September with completion (and finally getting the keys!) w/c 7th October

Thats all based on 4-5 weeks for P4P, 7 days cooling off and then required 2 weeks b/w exchange and completion.

Do you have somewhere you can go for a couple of weeks? If not I would extend for the extra month as based on my dates I would say you might be in there at the beginning of October!
