What about what I mentioned? I like having a laptop with me for my university lectures. I currently use my bulky dell. Its large, heavy, 3 years old, and means I have to use my laptop bag to bring it in, not leaving much room for books and folders.
While an EEE PC would do this job as well, its also £200. I don't want to spend that much on a laptop I'm going to be using just for taking notes and some light web browsing. The Elonex is half the price, will still do what I need it to do, and is looking much more attractive. Plus, though I don't have any proof, wouldn't the battery life be longer than the EEE's, since its only having to power a tiny 300Mhz processor?0 -

This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I own a couple of the EEPC from Asus and they are a "true" portable laptop and they are useful, upgradable and above all, they use INTEL class processors (The Atom).
And they also cost £200. I only have £100. And they would be surplus to requirements, as I only need it to run open office and firefox. Yes, the EEE can do that, but if the Elonex can, and at half the price, why spend more than I need to?0 -
there is going to be a £65 laptop too0

I just had people staying with me who had an eee and said they would not be without it. It weighed 1 KG and was easily carried. As it was wireless instead of standing in queues to book shows they went on the web and booked everything each day. It also meant they could keep in contact with people and read their emails. It was very small and easily portable.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Unfortunately the battery life with a standard 4200mah battery is rubbish !
The original eee had a 5400 mah battery0
