You can buy scart adaptors that have a s-video input like thisAlways looking for a bargain and to help0 -
Pete, I need to check my laptop's manual to make sure that the S-Video port can be used as an output rather than an input, but thanks for that suggestion.0

I use one of these DVI to HDMI connectors,
my video card has two outputs, so I use the spare one, when I want to watch my computer on the telly I right click on the screen and set up the dual monitors, I also have to plug the sound in via the front outputs on my computer which means changing audio options and putting my built in audio as default, it may seem a lot of messing around but it only takes a minute in real life when you know what to click, I don't think you should use a S-video connection as the results can be pretty dissapointing. There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0 -

As far as I'm aware if a PC has only 1 S-video then it's for output only but if it has 2 then it's in and out.
Remember you can also use jack to phono leads to plug into the scart for sound to your TV.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -
ive bought a vga cable to connect from my pc to my tv, which has a vga input socket, and also a jack to 2 phono cable for the sound,
if that works i might get a vga switch box to plug in my pc so that i dont have to keep swapping the vga cable every time i want to watch whats on my pc through my tv
never doen anything like this before so i hope its gonna work :eek:its only a bargain, if you need it or will use it.

Can you tell me what make and model your laptop is please.Always looking for a bargain and to help0
