Tesco and a catalogue of errors tonight ....

Have just done a shop at my local Mr Ts.

Bit of a long story so i'll try to keep it brief !

A few weeks ago my card was declined (not my error but Ts card machines playing up). I had to go to cashpoint to draw out the cash. Not a problem but it happened again tonight (as well as other things that have totally peeved me off !)

I got to the till and handed over my MOC to be told that they do not accept ANY coupons if you haven't bought the product:mad: . I know coupon policy varies as much as the darned british summer weather, but i've been using MOC in this particular store for ages with no problems until today. I called over a supervisor who reiterated that they accept NO coupons. I did argue but not too much (I have a fairly high CC balance and didn't want to draw attention to myself !) Also only had 3 coupons so not really worth the hassle on this occasion.

I also bought some packs of Paprika (reduced to 71p from £1.18, and they also had a 50p MOC on them). They went through at the full price. I did notice but quickly did my sums and a nice DTD due of 94p per pack plus the 50p MOC made it worthwhile keeping my mouth shut ! Thought I would pop to CS on way out :D

Anyway, I gave them my debit card and hey presto, card is refused again. Supervisor comes over (different one, who dealt with the same problem a few weeks ago), saves the transaction, explains that there is a problem with card readers and takes me to CS. About 20 people in the queue, all with the same problem so after waiting my turn and paying I politely point out the overcharge with the Paprika. Off CS lady goes and checks SEL. Comes back and says that they have been put there by mistake and that it doesn't apply to the product but she will give me the difference as a 'goodwill gesture'. Now i'm 100% certain that it WAS the right product but again, not wanting to draw attention to my clubcard total, I left it.

So, i've unpacked my shopping and checked my bank account balance and the !!!!!!s have taken two lots of money out of my account ! The accounts are different amounts (only a few pence difference) and I can't for the life of me work out why the second (wrong) transaction has come out of my account. Only thing I can think of is that when they phoned for authorisation CS said it was for £32 and they authorised it over the phone. She then put my card through on the till as usual. Does anyone have any idea if this is what has happened and will the money go back into my account tomorrow?

Totally fed up with Mr Ts at the moment and if it wasn't for the fact that Asda and Morrisons are over 20 miles away, i'd be there like a shot !

Any advice as to whether i'm going to have to fight for my £32 back with Ts greatly appreciated.

TIA xx

So, JTB, to recap, the biggest problem is Mr.T , MOC, your CC,CS ,DTD,and SEL s? Please tell me you don't talk like this,no wonder they were confused.

No hollydays, I do not usually speak like that. I'm sure you are fully aware they are abbreviations !

Why people feel it necessary to poke holes in other people's posts I will never know.

Apology accepted hollydays  (just feeling a bit tetchy with it all :o and i've probably got to make several phone calls to sort out the 'taking two lots of money' problem):wall:  - just as well I had enough in my bank to cover the extra money being taken out, otherwise i'd have had bank charges on top !

DTD = Double the Difference (Tesco policy that if they overcharge you they will give you double the difference back).

Think I might shop elsewhere for a while lol

    Seriously, what's SEL and MOC???

    I honestly have no idea!

And I thought Tesco had stoped "DTD" a long time ago??
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
