Free Swim Vouchers

I have been saving and using the Kelloggs free swim vouchers over the holidays but just felt very bad when the manager at the pool says they have taken in over 2000 vouchers but are getting nothing back from Kelloggs. This can't be right surely. He says that the North Devon pools have decided not to take any more and the pool here are thinking of following suit.

Does anyone know how the funding of this voucher scheme has worked. I for one never maent to destabilise the viabilty of the pools by using them

i reckon the manager does not know what he is talking about! The pool would not do it if was not good for business. Our local cannons always give you a tour of the place to try and sell you membership. i know this is private so different.

My local pools accepted them for the first couple of months, then 2 weeks ago, all the local pools (in my town) on their websites it says they no longer accept them as it says on the ticket, but will let a free child in with a full paying adult.
I bought loads of cornflakes to use the vouchers, and now I can't :(

I used four for our family at very begining of promotion, went back to same pool with the twins fired up for a great day off swimming a fortnight ago to find they won't take the vouchers for same reason. In fact none of the local pools (6 in total) in my local area will take them!!
This time next year Rodney... :D
  • Having used the vouchers at our local leisure centre a couple of months ago, went back today & they now have a big sign up saying they will only accept the Kelloggs vouchers after 5pm!

i work at a local leisure centre, and we do not accept them. I work on reception and the amount of people that we have to turn away is imense. As far we are aware is that the council did not opt into the scheme, and if you look on kellogs website it does not list ourselves as accepting them.
I do think that the kellogs packaging is a bit misleading, i have had very unhappy customers at my desk shouting at me because of it.
i think its best to complain to kellogs if you are no longer able to use them as i doubt the leisure facility will give you a free swim out of it

  • We still have about 50 of these to use up, they have been great. A family swim at our local pool is £10.75 which prohibits us from going too regularly. With Kelloggs we can all go for a fiver and have our breakfast paid for into the bargain. Whilst using these vouchers my youngest has now started to swim. We bought a ton of cereal to get the vouchers and Kelloggs have our money, so have kept our part of the bargain. Shall be most disgruntled should we be refused entry at the local pool.

We used two at our local pool today but they do have a poster saying they will only accept them midweek, Monday to Friday, and not weekends which is so unfair when we have to return to full-time work next week and wont be able to use the vouchers at all!!!

  • I used one last week in Malvern, Worcestershire with no problems. Don't have anymore left, but I did manage to print loads of swim free child with paying adult off the Pizza Hut web-site. I hope these are accepted ok.

I would be really annoyed if I had bought loads of cereal and agree with the other posters, that you should really write and complain.
