It is very expensive and busy to go to DLP this time of year. The Eurostar for next week comes up from £500 for 1 adult and 3 kids. Flying Luton To Charles de Gaul just over £400. To stay 2 nights/park entry is £800 on their website. Going by coach would be cheaper, but you would spend so long getting there.

You could go for a week to salou in Spain for less and they have an ex-universal park called Portaventura in Salou about a 20 min walk from the town. www.ryanair.com stansted to Barcelona Reus Sat 16 Aug return Sat 23 August £627.50 (bags extra, so take hand lugguage)
www.travelrepublic.co.uk use code August in box for discount Apartments £600 for the week. 7 days entry to park for 3 £49 per child, £59 per adult.
www.portaventura.co.uk. Transfers are via airport bus outside arrivals terminal at Reus (you just pay on bus-it drops and picks up from your hotel on return-£10 per adult return, children about £8 return. £1467.50 for flights (bags extra), apartment and theme park passes.

Sorry just read your post again and realise the budget is £500 for 4. I don't think you will be able to get any last minute deals for that abroad, but maybe you could look at a caravan holiday park with activities in the UK (I know the weather is not good...)-check out Haven, Park resorts etc, maybe a last minute deal would be under £500.

It would be less expensive for DLP to book the Eurostar in advance and go during the quieter winter months-you can get more done.

Your mum could also look at days out staying at different cheap hotels eg. travelodge.co.uk (click on saver rooms) have family rooms, sleeping 4 from £19. There are currently free entry Warwick Castle vouchers and there is a Travelodge nearby in Leamington Spa. You could also look at similar near Legoland, Chessington etc and look for info on cheap tickets on this site.

Hey all, thanks for everything...the cheapest flight I have found for all of us is £334 and the cheapest hotel being the Golf for £186 that is for 2nights 21-23 august, which is a little over budget, plus i need to book tickets with disneyland...can i only buy park tickets directs or are there cheaper brokers..

also susancs thank you for all the suggestions i am checking them out right now!
  • Really, if you mjst do Disney, book now for Feb half term. It's not as busy (remember the thread a few days ago where someone was in the park for 7 hours and only got 1 ride?) and all children 11 and under go free. It will be much, much better value for money. In fact, for even better value, take them out of school for a couple of days if you can. This can almost halve the price.
  • We went to Disneyland Paris last November for 2 nights. We flew Ryanair from Glasgow Prestwick - Paris Beauvais. The bus is 13euros each way from the airport to Port Malloit, the district adjacent to the Arc De Triomphe. From there you can get the RER train (line A) direct to disney.
We stayed in the Premiere Classe hotel in Bussy St Georges, a lovely town 2 stops before Disney (10mins max). This hotel seems to be around £30 per night consistently throughout the year.

    Price was unreal.

    Ryanair - £5 each way,
    £20 total

Bus - 13 euros each way, 52 altogether
    £40

    Hotel - 2 nights
    £60

    Tickets - 90 euros each, 2 days
    180 euroes
    £150

    Total = £270.

£270 for two people, for two nights at Disney!
Fair enough it was November, so it wont be as cheap as that, but hopefully it will give you a few pointers.
  • I have just come back from Haven Wild Duck in Great Yarmouth which we booked last minute. 3 adults 2 kids 530pounds. Supiriour plus caravan.

I found the price, van, site area and customer services excellent and would deffo go back. Only drawback is the price and overselling of stuff to kids on site. That i found a little bit uncomfortable. (A toy shop in a pub!)

Haven site is great to browse and get prices. (Dont forget Quidco)

There is a discount code on this Park Resorts Site, but I don’t know if it is current or not
