Last minute family holiday!!! Please help!

Options
Hi guys,

My mum has now decided that she wants to take the kids away somewhere on holiday probably next week....I know it is really last minute, but what places could i look for last minute package holidays, there would be 2 adults and 3 kids..or I may not go so 1 adult and 3 kids.. (although my bro is 14 years old- which may count as adult)

I dont have a clue where to start, so I need help with sites to go on, contacts and possible destinations with a budget of £500 i am sure it will be europe..probably for 5-7 days if poss

Thanks a bunch

QT xx

have you tried the travel agents website, like going places, first choice, thomas cook etc?

that would be a good starting point

I think you might struggle if the £500 budget is for all of you.

I could be talking rubbish (and I'm sure that someone will correct me soon) - I haven't been pricing up this sort of holiday recently for last minute departures but having seen what other peoples' experiences have been then I should think at a rough guess for 2 adults and 3 kids (or 3 adults and 2 kids given your brother's age) for a 7 night holiday you would need to look at doubling that budget at least. Even that might be unrealistic.

If you would like other people to try and help you, please say where you can fly from and give the childrens' ages. In the meatime try checking Holiday Hypermarket - they have some deals that look initially to be pretty good if you can fly from Glasgow!

It would be counted as 2 adults regardless of the age of the child.

Travelling as a single parent I've always had to pay adult price for my eldest child since he was eight.

I would plan your budget accordingly.

We are flexible as to where to fly from preferably the south east as we are in london

the kids are aged 8,10 and 14
  • A decent quality package holiday with a major tour op in the next week or so will cost you in the region on £350 per person, minimum, unless you fly out of one airport back ro another, possibly the other side of the country.

ooo I am thinking of disneyland paris...anyone kno of any good and cheap operators ?
  • Last Minute? AFAIK the on site hotels are pretty fully booked for next few days.
You wont get a "deal" as Disney is always brochure price but they do have the odd extra day and night free offer. Give Disney direct a call, get their price, then call your local independant travel agent up and ask them to beat it. You will in all likelyhood get 5% off.
