Play a memory game and donate water to charity at no cost to you

What's this about?
There's a great new website that raises funds for charity - to buy clean water and give to those who need it - by getting its sponsors to make a donation for every user it gets. You've just got to play a game to get it.
Simply go to Help Thirst and a string of numbers will appear for a few seconds for you to memorise. Each time you recall the string correctly, which increases in length as the levels progress, a cup of water will be donated to World Vision.
This is very similar in concept to FreeRice.com and The Hungersite (read the full Feed The Starving At No Cost To You article on how both these sites work) which are regularly featured in the weekly e-mail.
Will it really help people?
One cup of water is 100ml, which is roughly a third of a coffee mug. You can easily clock up a a few litres of water in 10 minutes depending on how good you are and how addicted you find it! Plus there's no limit to how much water you can donate per day.
Who pays for the donated water?
The water is paid by advertisers that have banners at the bottom of the page. It's basically an advertising site where the profit is donated to charities.
Is it legit?
The site is totally legit, we've checked with World Vision and it has confirmed that HelpThirst is raising funds for it. There is no political, religious or corporate affiliation.

I have just been on the site and it does get more difficult the higher the level you reach. I got level 45 and 60 cups of water before my eyes crossed!"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

I just woke up this morning to find helpthirst.com featured in my MSE email and there were just too many people trying to donate that the site went down!
We'll try to beef up the server a bit to cope with the strain, so hopefully that will help, but it might take a while.
In the mean time, please be patient and save the link to your bookmarks so you can try to play again when helpthirst.com is less busy!
Thanks for the lovely review.

Very fun to do and a positive feel from giving too. SIte seemed fine for me just now - immediate load.
I didn't even notice any advertising at the bottom of the page, double bonus!0 -
Good to have something to do lunchtime that doesn't involve me spending money - like my previous ebay addiction used to.
World Vision has brilliant gift ideas by the way, personalised (moon pig type) cards and charity gifts from about £5 or £6.0 -
Good fun in a geeky sort of way. But for a good cause. Only goes up to 87 then gets stuck!!0

I have visted the World Vision and FreeRice sites - is any one else concerned that the advertisers (who are the ones paying for the rice / water) seem to be aid charities?! Budgeting is my favourtie thing!0

Our ad provider tries to serve contextual ads, which it often shows charity ads for people who are interested in charities, like most of the people using the site!
We don't choose which adverts are displayed, the ad network works out what to display using a number of factors (out of our control).
Hope this addresses your concerns!
