  • We went in January, the best piece of advise I could give is to get to grips with the metro/tram system as quick as you can as it's a great way to get about.

There is plenty to do, what are your interests? Plenty of great places to eat although it is like most European cities not cheap.

I was in Brussels for a 2 night stay (also at the Marriott) last month. The hotel is right near to the Grand Place which is absolutely beautiful. There's loads to see and do and if you're after a cheap meal, there's a couple of streets which have nothing but restaurants on both sides offering a 3 course meal for 12 Euro. Ok you're not going to get Michelin-starred food for that but my wife and I had a very nice meal at one of them, sitting outside under the canopy while it p***ed it down!

Steer clear of the car museum unless you are a real enthusiast. Waste of money (IMO) you cannot get close to most of the cars, them being on the ground floor and you looking down from the gallery.

Yes, it took us about 15 mins. It's pretty much a straight road all the way. There is a McDonalds on the ground floor of the same building as the hotel and a Pizza Hut right next to it too. I'm not suggesting you eat at either but they provide a good landmark for finding the hotel!

Yeah, the hotel is lovely. We had an Executive Room which included access to the Executive Lounge (free alcoholic and soft drinks, snacks and Continental breakfast) as well as a free mini-bar (more free beer!)

Go visit the Manequin Pis (just off Grand Place), just to get your photo taken there - I think there's some sort of tradition associated with it.

Find a moules et frites restaurant. Cheap, delicious, mussels and chips!!! (It's a chain restaurant - they're everywhere) almost as tacky as Macky D's, but gotta be done!

What's the think with the balls in the A type frame? I think that was okay.

Is there still the Wallaby theme park?
