three customer services (payment) - Rant

I have recently been out of the countrymaking my last phone bill £130 rather than the normal £17.50-£25

I cancelled this direct debit and told three I was doing so. This was so I could shift payments to another account.

I asked to pay me bill in cash as it says you can do on the three website, but was told I can't as my bill has been raised and they will not/cannot send a giro slip out this month.

I then tired to pay on my card and was told as my card address is not on their system they cannot take payment from it.

I polietly asked them how they expect to receive the money for the bill then and was cheekily told to borrow a card from someone else - which I found outrageous.

It seems they can take payment from someone/ anyone else even a complete stranger, but cannot take payment from my card because my card address has not been used with them before.

At this point the customer service rep gave up and passed me to collections who were equally useless. I told them if none of the above methods work how about bank transfer (I know vodafone are happy to accept this). The guy again told me to borrow a card from someone, he would even call them up now in a confrence call manner. I found this suggestion completely appauling, which I told him. He apologiesed and finally agreed to give me account numbers and references so I can make the payment via bank transfer.

suffice to say will be leaving three in the very near future.
