Thanks Jools. I'm so far away from where i was it almost seems fathomless i was ever there. But i was and i have to remind myself of that when i sometimes get complacent. It creeps up on you like ivy.
I have such a great life now that having a bet is the last thing i need or want.

Its good for me to pass on knowledge, makes me feel good about my own recovery and all of the people that passed their knowledge on to me. Pass it on

Absolutely fantastic!!! Well done Jools. Life really is so much better without the worry of paying debt or trying to find money to gamble with.
1 year. there was a time i didnt think i'd make 1 day!

A belated Happy New year cantcope.


Has anyone been watching the new Sheridan Smith drama on TV? In it she's a compulsive gambler. She blew over £1000 on slot machines in this week's episode. Watching it made me feel so anxious and really quite sick. A good sign for e perhaps.

Yes i've been watching it. It's been good for our GA group too as its opening up discussions and feelings for people. I think her facial expressions have been amazing so far. As a gambler i can really associate but my friends are too which for them is helpful in continuing to support me. As much as slots werent my deal the feelings are the same however you lose your money.

Hi CC - just seen this. I'm coping far better than I ever thought I could. It's over 2 years now since I stopped gambling and life is so much clearer. No gambling related anxiety, no being twitchy wanting to be online on the slots. Life is quite mundane and I'll happily settle for that

That's great to hear Jools.

All fabulous with me. Itook my 7 year old to Lapland for four days just before Christmas. It was amazing. I could never have done that if i was still gambling.
