Perhaps if there was some sort of estrangement and she and her mum did not get on well then I would just about understand having a problem with it.
As for car being off road, unable to drive it and not used, cash in the tax disc for remaining months and declare the vehicle SORN. When you are able to drive book it in for an MOT.
no estrangemt with my parents - the garage are underhand using an old number to tell my mum the mot is not covered with an mot when it still has 10 days to run!!!!!
i am going to use it within 3 months just not at the moment untill i have healed!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -

someone from the garage has phoned my mum (on a phone no that they have on their records as in-active for 8 years and told her my mot has expired - when it was still valid for 10 days!! they have had all phone conversations with me on current no or mobile for the last 8 years... they have phoned an old contact no and lied- what has my user name got to do with that!!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. i despair, they're prob only being helpful and trying to ensure you don't get a £1000 fine and points on your licence and you even say they're an old faithful garage - if you're that bothered take it to kwik fit instead and enjoy being ripped off there
if you're that concerned ring them back and ask you not to ring or contact you again'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
OP
At the risk of sounding rude you REALLY need to get out more or seek professional help if this *problem* really does have you in the state you appear to be in.
Really, life is TOO short.
Count to ten, take a grip and keep hold of it

I use a local garage and I wish they were organised enough to offer this service. Many a time DH or I have been caught out and have had to arrange an MOT at the very last minute. I would be more than happy to get a reminder.
As for ringing the wrong phone number, well, they must have 100s of customers and perhaps they didn't keep records exactly up to date. Human error perhaps. I would just thank them for the call and ask them to up date next time you speak to them.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
I wish my garage had phoned me yesterday after my service was complete?

If you have no MOT on the car then your Car Tax and Insurance are both void.To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0

thanks I was just going to make this point about the insurance...if the car was stolen while off the road, you may not be covered.
Also, I just wanted to say that it's likely to be a new marketing strategy of the garage. They've kept old records and are trying to drum up some business by reminding ex-customers about their deadlines. Mobile phone companies do it all the time - for example, I bought a phone from a company about 4 years ago & haven't got it any more, but they've just rung me to ask me if I'm due for an upgrade & would like to sell it to me! I think it's a bit cheeky but that's how the world works these days...0
