How to change time on incoming mail?

Recently the time on my incoming emails has been hours ahead of itself. I've tried to set it via control panel/date and time but not sure what to do to change it.
The time and date read as they should and the time zone reads GMT so all seems correct there.
In Internet time there is a drop down with the following 3 choices -
stdtime.gov.hk
time.windows.com
time.nist.com
I've tried all 3 while connected to the internet.
I've also tried unchecking the box which reads 'automatically synchronise with an internet time server'.
I've sent myself an email when I've done each of the above, but still makes no difference, my incoming mail is approx 15 hours ahead of the comp time.
I'm sure it's something very simple to set it to the correct time and perhaps I can't see the wood for the trees - so can anybody help please?
Thank you in anticipation

Make sure the clock on your computer is correct and set for the correct time zone in Regional Setttings.0
-
Regional Settings reads English (United Kingdom), and is showing todays date and the current time. S0

Nowhere on the planet is 15 hours ahead of GMT - nor British Summer Time.

check for 'daylight saving hours'0

It's intriguing. There are other places in the world that can be 15 hours ahead, or behind, each other - but not of here.
I wonder where it thinks it is? And where it thinks its email is coming from?

One possibility is that the time is set wrong on your ISP's mail server?
It sounds unlikely, but worse mistakes have been made... Difficult one to check, but you may get an indication of whether that's a possible cause from looking at the message headers.0 -
The time is set to BST.
Having turn off the comp and restarted it, I've now got the time on incoming mails down to 7 hours ahead..presumably fiddling with time/date etc has caused something to change.
Have checked 'full headers' and they're showing the correct time even though the time on incoming mail is hours out.
I am confuzzled!0 -
When Spammers send email the ofter set the date and time way ahead of the real time, this is to ensure that they appear at the top of you inbox. As you say the time in the Headers is correct as this comes from the servers it passes through but the sent time comes from the senders machine. The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

thank you for your interest Dime Bar. I would understand if it were just one or two mails but not all of them. I don't receive spam as it goes into the spam or junk folders and is instantly deleted.
Any other suggestions as to how to get round this problem will be gratefully received.
