hi all,i have owned ford cars for 12 years dealing with dealerships all over belfast/lurgan/lisburn with dealers lindsays/irish road motors with my dads pensioner discount voucher and i found every single one worse than arthur daly,last time was april 2005 i was told the discount voucher was of no use because of the market and then found out later the a.p.r. with the voucher was only 5% which they failed to point out i was charged 11.9%,i did take this up with ford but as i signed it i could do nothing about it,well as for the service dept.....poor is the only word that springs to mind,ford cars are great motors but i will never will buy from a dealership again,cowboys.

As a side issue, I would recommend going across the water to purchase a car. Nearly new or second hand cars I reckon to be 30% cheaper in one of the large supermarkets such as Motorpoint. What you would pay 12.5 or 13k for here, could be obtained for under £10k

SERE (Lisburn) have the honour of being the only car company to make me cry - mis-sold their finance and got a nightmare of a car too. Hurst (Mallusk) charge outrageous amounts for servicing and repairs. I now go to a tiny local garage that are excellent. Best advice is to know what you're looking for - must check Parkers guides or similar online. If you can take a friend who really knows cars with you. By the way, never go as a woman on your own cause most won't even speak to you never mind do a deal!! Have tried this quite a few times now and even though I know more about what we need than my husband unless he is there I can't even get sales guys to make eye contact never mind talk business.
