    I just had charles hurst Renault boucher road supposedly fix TDC sensor on my car for £200. It has failed to fix problem.

    Avoid Hurst and definitely avoid Renault Laguna's.

    Heres evidence of prosecution against Hursts:

    Another word of warning re Charles Hurst, but specifically their Boucher Road Renault dealership - abominable service from them, damaged my car while servicing it but denied doing so, refused me use of a phone to call Renault Customer Service UK, just downright rude and unpleasant (on several occasions, it wasn't just one person).

    Have to say thought that I never had any problems with their Nissan dealership, same location, and have used them several times.
  • Have dealt extensively with Hurst Renault and found them to be - at best - 'unhelpful'. Full of wee boys in big pinstriped suits and pots of hairgel. Uncaring, incompetent and a complete lack of customer service. I want to shout "Stop!!" at all the suckers sitting in the showroom waiting to buy their new cars. Don't buy a Renault and never go near CH Renault.

    Don't use them for servicing your car either. They have a conviction for ripping off a customer in this regard;

    Put it into context...

    Quote from the above link.

    The firm's managing director Andy Bruce apologised to Mr McComish and blamed human error.
    "I think we've got something like 600,000 customer transactions a year - it doesn't mean to say what happened was right but it's important to keep this in context," he said.

    So it was down to human error......
  • I used to work for bells and i would avoid them like the plague

    Any cars on the forecourt are marked up by 1500 or so to think you are getting a better deal on your px. Service dept is a complete shambles.

    I worked for hursts too and its much the same, although not on the same scale.
  • Some Renaults especially Laguna's have to be marked up £1500 to cover breakdowns and inevitable warranty claims!

    Phillips Autos on Rosetta Road have been straight with me

    I had to force them to take a car back after the son miss-sold it to me. Said it had ABS breaks and it hadn't, said they'd fix a list of faults I noticed and didn't. Got shirty when I boned him about it and tried to make me believe I had to keep the car and didn't even offer any discount if I did agree to keep it. They sold it for top price for it's make/model with ABS. Didn't count on me knowing my legal rights and writing them a firmly worded letter telling them exactly what legal recourse was available to me. The son phoned up whining that I'd made him out to be a right idiot (if the cap fits) and said they would give me a refund as a goodwill gesture, yeah right :rolleyes:

    I hate cardealers who assume that because you're a woman they can rip you right off.
