whats the limit for personal lloyds account? and dose it send with faster payment online?
I couldn't find any mention of this in any T & C's, but if you inadvertently exceed it, as I did, your bank on-line access is blocked for 72 hours. You get a big bold message to that effect on your screen.
You then have to ring up and answer every security question that they can think of (they missed out shoe size) and then they will re-instate your on-line access. But you are still restricted to the £10,000 a day. What happens is the transaction sits waiting until the day after and is flagged up on your account screen as a transaction waiting for permission. You can then delete or OK it for that day.
Faster payment is restricted to £500 or less. As I again found out by accident and reading these forums. I sent a test £10 almost instantly to Tesco bank, followed by a £1000 which crawled over a 3 day period to reside in the same place.0 -
Thanks for the update LesU.
Lloyds aside, try inadvertently upsetting the Halifax fraud team (I assume they are still a separate team within the Lloyds Group) by doing too many Faster Payments.
This team are unhappy accepting HSBC bank statements as proof of address identification (too easily forged, apparently, although how they can confirm any document as a fake from faxes sent to them by a branch I am still left unclear about - sadly they do not appear to trust their own branch staff to be able to verify documents). They are, however, happy leaving customers waiting hours before letting them know though! (To their credit, branch staff kindly applied significant pressure to get the situation resolved sensibly in the end - a day off work wasted though).

Very slightly off topic, I tried to transfer over 10k yesterday and it told me the transfer limit was 10k which is fine. If I were to transfer the money in two smaller sums will this be fine or will the process be slowed down by the fraud department. Need to get the money to my solicitor tomorrow and trying to avoid spending £30 on a chaps transfer0

Just to update this, the limits seem to have been changed. The daily limit is now £25k, with the individual transaction limit being £10k:

Updated, and wrong it seems:If you have added a new recipient and want to make a payment, it will be sent via BACS so you should allow 3 to 4 working days to get to the recipient’s account.
I added a new recipient yesterday and made a payment, it went by faster payments, not BACS.0
