Well done on the clearout PP just imagine how much better it will be with a lovely clear space (to fill up again) and a few more pennies in the bank.

KC have you really had pig-flu? Poor you. There have been a few people with it around here, but you don't know what's the bad bug and what's just a cold. Glad to hear you're getting over it though, it must have been a bit scary.
Another 3 Freecycle no-shows tonight, for decent stuff as well that lots of people had asked for. They're a real pain in the rear.
Claimed £20 from Consumer Pulse in Homebase vouchers to add to the £40 I got the other day. It builds up quickly there, perhaps because I buy so much stuff to tell them about!
I'm going to work out yet another budget plan while I'm here at work this evening. We never stick to them for more than a week or two, but the more often we do them, the more time therefore is spent sticking to one.0 -
Hi Panda
Well, my GP and the stupid information line say it was pig flu .... they don't swab tho, so they can't really tell. The line of infection was very clear, so I'm pretty sure it was. It was scary to get it in France - we didn't even try to contact doctors or anything. I certainly have no clue how far away the nearest hospital was.... ah well, over it now, and I feel a bit more energetic in parts of today.
You mean to say that 3 people baggsied stuff on freecycle and then didn't turn up to collect it??? Thats appalling - *such* a waste of time.
On your budget, good for you. I'm having a play with a spreadsheet to clean and ready the house for whatever, whether its my renovation or preparing to leave - its lots of fun, I love spreadsheets!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
That's what worries me about the no-swabbing. I bet there are a lot of people who think they have had it but haven't.
I'm one that 'may have had it but didn't realise or I think I had but didn't really'... I thought I was having breathing problems due to hayfever and that my aches were caused by the mattress and my temperature and nausea was caused by the heat. I felt so ill but then hayfever can do that too.
Anyway my childminder informed me a few days later that she thought she had heart problems the previous week and the doctors had swabbed her and she instead had swine flu as did four of the children in her care.
My children had a bit of a temperature (don't they all) but no other symptoms so I either had it and my children and OH are super immune or I didn't have it and it was hayfever and a bug. I could tick most, if not all of the symptoms...
I guess it's wait and see if I become ill again in winter...
Anyway sorry for the ramblings on your thread PP
I used to love doing budgets but have become slightly phobic of them and thankfully I don't have the time to do them these days but if they work for you, even if it is for a week, that's better than the way I do it!
Can you leave messages on Freecycle about time wasters?Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
Hi Floxxie - just to continue the hijack, in my case, of the four people who were infected before me, none of them contacted the doctor, though one was ill enough to. It may be a lot more prevalent than we think, or we're all going to get it socked to us in the winter... I have no idea which
I'm still going to look after myself as if I haven't had it, I think

Hello Lunar! Hello Panda (when you turn up...

2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hello, long time no see everybody! I keep meaning to call in here, and there are always a load of other 'essential' things that I need to do online first, which always seem to take far longer than they should.
All's fine here. Hopefully all of you above that have had/maybe had swine flu are fully recovered now. We had a bit of a scare last week when Greg was struggling to breathe a bit, and had to take him to the hospital where he was on oxygen, but he's 100% now. They've called it a 'viral induced wheeze'. All good now though.
Lots of work going on chez Panda. New back door finally fitted today, 18 months later, and it's fab - the utility/kitchen should be loads warmer this year as the old one was rotten and had a gaping hole where there used to be a cat flap! No further forward with the garage yet, just had too much going on to get any further with it.
Caravanning was brilliant! We'll definitely be doing more of that, but again it all boils down to lack of time. Hoping for a weekend at the end of October though.
Adam started school last week - my little baby boy, bless! Seems to be going well enough so far. Greg's starting a private nursery next week, just 2 sessions a week, but they take childcare vouchers so it'll effectively be half price. And I desperately need some free time to get on with stuff - he's ridiculously clingy and whingy at the moment.
I won't mention the debt, as I don't really know what's going on with it at the moment. My PC has somehow deleted my copy of Office, so my spreadsheets aren't working, and I haven't had the time to sort it all out.
Hope that all of you are doing fine. Going to TRY and have a read of some diaries now, but knowing me I'll get to the first and get called away for something. I'm still here though - thanks to all of you who haven't given up on me completely!!!0
