Just read my last post - what a moaning cow! Sorry folks!

Things are fine, just as busy as always, but not complaining as it keeps me out of trouble (I've not even been in the same retail park as a TK Maxx for well over a month). I have, however just bought a new Sony laptop via the Littlewoods loophole that was on HUKD yesterday - was £999, getting it for £350. I'm hoping that this will allow me a little more computer time, as the reason I don't use the laptop I have (this one) is that it's a bit cack. Going to pass it on to the parents which I'm sure I'll regret when they use it as a pot stand or something.

Greg was back at the doc today. He's not absolutely covered in eczema, it's just on his hands, chin (from slobber), backs of knees and ankles plus the odd little spot on the torso, so I know that compared to a lot of poor little babies he's really not doing too badly, but the bits that he does have are a total mess - bleeding, weeping etc. We've tried about a dozen different lotions and potions, but keep coming back to Aveeno (oatmeal moisturiser) as the best whilst doing the least harm. I did loads of research online last week and discovered something called Dermasilk which is surgical grade silk clothing which claims to vastly improve eczema rapidly. Almost bought it based on the reviews, despite being £100ish, then noticed it's available on prescription for kids. Asked the doc today, who said he'd look into whether or not he could do that. Fingers crossed he'll ring me back tomorrow, I'll be looking for a different doctor otherwise.

Work ok again, but boss is still a complete !!!!!!. Thankfully everyone says the same so it's not just us that are having problems.

Lots of non-money waffling, sorry! Our debt today stands at £77,614 excluding overdrafts which we no longer count as they go up and down on a daily basis. Got a rough sort-of SOA which I might try and post here if the aircraft I'm waiting on hurries up and lands before the nightshift arrives.

Just time for a quick squizz at Laura's diary in the meantime I think...

  • Oh no, I do hope you find something that's soothes Greg's eczema soon! It's a horrible thing especially for little ones!

To keep on MSE banter, well done on your laptop bargain! Excellent!

Panda, you wanted to be pestered so here I am. Hope Gregs skin is improving and you got the silk clothes on prescription.

Get that SOA posted, it will motivate me! I need to get mine redone when we finally move house and sort all the bills. we are massivly increasing our debts again as it is the only way we are able to get the deposit together for our house. Have you finished all the work you were having done on the house? I guess as soon as you finish everything your debts will be dropping quickly again.

    Thanks, I need that pestering!

Usual busy but quiet week. Greg wasn't allowed his prescription because it costs too much (don't get me started, blood boils every time I think about it) but we've been referred to the hospital dermatologist as 'urgent', and therefore given an appointment in mid-June. Thankfully his skin is a lot better this week, but that's because we've been on the super-strength steroids. Probably back to normal again next week, tho I hope not.

We're on the bones of our overdraft again, payday not till the 15th. I don't know how. Well, I suppose I do: it's because we spent it all again. But although we haven't made any headway, we haven't spent anything we don't have either, tempting though it is to buy a new back door and do loads of stuff to the house with help from a flexible friend but we're hanging back. So we're back to about 75.5k with the monthly payments that have come out.

Tidied the desk in the study today, which took all day:o but liberated all sorts of things I thought I'd lost. Are there any good housework/decluttering challenges going on at the moment?

Sorry to read about Greg's skin. My DD had awful eczema as a child, and ended up in wet wraps for 6 months when she was about 7.......I had to shout and scream in the surgery in order to get her treated, but eventually we paid for Bupa - my GP was suddenly happy to refer us  But it got the results she needed, and since then (she is now 14) she only gets flare ups very occasionally when under real stress, (SATS, my Dad dying, moving house etc) so it is pretty good in comparison to how it was.

so, stick to your guns to get him sorted - the sooner the better for all concerned.

Mmmmm housework I think I remember that...

Ditto Hypnos words about Greg a little one shouldnt suffer over a few £. Its a small blessing that he is likely to grow out of the worst my nephew did thankfully.

Good news on not hitting the CCs hope you can keep that up until payday.

Thanks Hypno, although I'm pretty good at playing the extremely loud "do anything to shut her up and get her out of the surgery" parent myself at the moment. And hey, presto, the appointment has magically been brought forward to the 21st May. I'm hoping they'll prescribe the silk stuff there. It's reassuring to hear all about other people's kids who have almost completely grown out of it.

Hi KP! Please please don't post that avatar on my diary again (oh, ok then...do!) - I've not had any chocolate in about a week but I'm going to grab a creme egg now. Picked up half a dozen today for a quid - it would have been rude not to really.

I've spent the afternoon painting the fireplace. It was orange wood - solid yew apparently and worth a fortune...not worth much now after my paint job, but it looks a helluva lot better in white. Did 2 mystery shops this morning, one a bank which was handy as I had a chq to pay in, but the other was a travel agents and it took aaaaaages. Must remember to write them up tonight before bed. Thought I'd try and get back into the 'challenge-challenge' with a list of jobs to do this evening. Off to try and find it...(after the creme egg)
