How old's your DS lunar? I'm going with an 8 month old, a 3 year old and an 8 year old. Now beginning to think that perhaps I should have waited until post milk and nappies stage. Am going to need a whole suitcase just to deal with that side of things...

MM, hope you're right about the wheels being present!

Ooh, didn't realise it was that soon Floxxie, sure you'll have a lovely time. I've never been to any Disney places, but I suppose they'll have all sorts of stuff going on for Christmas. The kids (or two of them at least!) will love it. Don't suppose you can get a suitcase big enough to squeeze me into? Or even just my kids?! Have you had a look at the cases in TK Maxx? I got a couple of Zero Halliburton cases in there a couple of years ago for £20-odds each (should be nearer £1,000) and they've always got plenty of Samsonite stuff. I always get good cases as I'm terrified of being greeted by a stream of dirty knickers on the carousel.

Lunar, how many weeks is baba now? I'm terrible at keeping track of time, I'm guessing he's about 7 or 8 weeks-ish? Thanks loads for the photos by the way, he's so cute. And your OH is a bit of alright too!!! You all looked so happy, they were lovely. You were right about the ironing, but Eva has moved away and I'm going to give it a few months and see if I can keep up with it myself. Not doing very well so far though, so I think I'll be taking Eva up on her offer of phone numbers for some of her friends after Christmas.

Tomorrow's list includes putting up the Christmas tree, finishing laying the utility room floor, shopping, collecting a jigsaw board I won on Freecycle (to do a massive Snowman puzzle that Adam wanted me to get. Goodness knows when I'll find the time to do that, it's 1000 pieces), cleaning the house from top to bottom and doing more ironing. Hmmm...not looking promising. Anyone fancy sacking it all off and coming to the pub with me?!

I'll be down the pub anyway so come and join me.

Yes, that is quite a list. I now only put one item down on my to do list and 99% of the time, that doesn't get done. Have got quite use to it now.

I'm really excited about the children realising where we are going. It's still a secret from them. Guess they are not going to be too happy when I wake them at 1am and tell them we are going on a day trip to see some planes :rotfl:

Will have to look up some cheaper options next year. Really shouldn't book holidays on a whim. Now when I think how much debt I could have paid off.

And how is the ebay challenge coming on PP?

We once woke our kids at 1am to set off for Lapland without telling them where we were going. They just trooped into the car and went back to sleep as if it were an everyday occurance and didn't even ask where we were going!

We went to Lapland once but we were burgled the day before so I really wasn't in the right mood for festivities! One of the biggest wastes of money I think we have had, but it would have been better, I'm sure, had we not had "visitors" while we were out

Are you still in the pub, panda........

    :rotfl: I wish! What's a pub anyway?

Been working through the house, it's still a total tip but much less of a total tip than it was 2 days ago. It's been a real concentrated effort and we're starting to see some results, I just can't wait to have EVERYTHING sorted/clean/tidy.

Floxxie, I wouldn't worry about the cost. I think there's more to life than money and paying off debt, and although it's nice to reduce debt, if you've set yourself back a couple of months then so what? As long as it's not every month then it's only a tiny blip in the whole scheme of things. It'll be something to remember - your kids will be grown up in no time and it's nice for them to have some lovely memories. The ebay challenge has completely ground to a halt as I've decided I need to get my house in order to regain some kind of sanity, and for now money is taking second place to that. It's annoying me as I could be making a fortune over Christmas but tough.

Choca, Adam is a bit like that. We bundle him and Greg into the car, and about 10 minutes later he'll pipe up "where are we going mummy?"! When I was a kid every excursion was pre-booked weeks in advance but I think our kids are just so used to the chaotic life we lead. Must have been brill when they discovered they were in Lapland (and not some dodgy theme park in the New Forest). Shame your hol was spoiled Hypno, I bet the kids would have loved it there with all the snow. What age were your kids - what's the best age for a Lapland trip?

We went before we discovered skiing....so the children would have been about 5 and 6........Not something I would do again I have to say......it just didn't work for us, in any way!

Give us a teacher dressed up at the school fayre any day!

I've got photos of me at my dad's work Christmas party sitting on Santa's knee being handed a present - brings back really happy memories. Such a shame that can't happen any more. Even if one in a million Santa's are a bit dodgy, is there any kid who's been harmed by sitting on their knee under their parent's supervision?

I've spent the last hour checking emails. I've not done a survey in weeks and hope the companies won't give up on me as I've got loads that must be near cash-out level. Just realised that our home insurance renewals have come through today as well, so that's another couple of hours that needs done sorting that out. AAAAAAAAaaaaaaargh. Why can't there be two extra (child-free) days in the week to get all these things done?!
  • when I was little (yep a long time ago:rotfl: ) my Mum and Dad used to have to make sure i was given a boy's toy when we went to see Santa otherwise I would cry if i had a doll:rotfl:

hope you get time to sort out all your insurance quotes - Panda.
