We've still got that darned storage unit at £120 a month as well, which is entirely due to lack of time to get the garage cleared out to move all the stored stuff home.

Shouldn't that be in your SOA? It's a huge drain on your resources, if it was me I'd be making it a priority to get that sorted. (I think you've said in the past it was covered by your e-bay money, but if you haven't got time to do the e-baying that I guess that isn't the case at the moment?)

So far I've fed the kids, and...erm...nothing else. Choca, it probably will take all week (especially if i sit on here every time Greg dozes off!) but got to aim big.

Tyllwyd, I didn't include it as it comes out the business account, but you're right, it is a waste of cash. Although i'm not actively doing Ebay, I've still got my cutlery in the shop which still sells on a fairly regular basis and the money for storage comes out the business account. But it is still £120 down the drain and it is really high on the priority list. Sadly there are about another 2 dozen things all equally important!

KC, I knew someone would mention the lottery! I've thought about cancelling it, but we haven't for those very reasons. It's only on here as it's paid by DD, if it was just an off £1 coin here and there nobody would even think about it. Plus he's really jammy and seems to win loads of tenners!

Blimey, best get cracking then - that lot would take me about a week to do!

Yay, I have a plan! Thanks to Hypno, I've worked out that I need to pay approx £70 a day off our debt in order to be debt free by the time hubby & I both turn 35. That's 30 days a month, over 40 months (Aug 08 to Nov 11).

That's not a lot more than we pay at the moment, so it is completely achievable, there's no excuses this time.

So now I've got my motivated hat on, poor old Cuthbert has been deleted and we have the shiny new '£70 a day' diary. Here we go...

(And none of that got me any further on with the list, though I have just hung the first load of twice-washed washing up!)

Floxxie, I'd definitely recommend getting help with the housework - I've got a lovely Polish girl who does the ironing and gives a bit of help cleaning and it's well worth the money, otherwise these things just wouldn't get done and I'd be a billion times more stressed than I am already. It's a bit of an extravagance but if you can afford it then go for it. I think there was a debate on Hypno's thread a while back and most people said the same thing. And thanks for the words of encouragement! P.S. What's wrong with Cuthbert?! Let's see you come up with something better :p !

I shall definitely look into this (although have to clear house first of carp otherwise the cleaner would not be able to clean!) What hourly rate do people charge?

I would leave your SOA as it is - there are sufficient funds for one wage to cover the debts and the other to cover the everyday bills.

Any quick money making schemes around? :rotfl:Apparently not so do you have £80k of stuff to eBay, bingo to play, bank accounts to open, MBing to do, MS around that you could fit around bringing up the children, working, fixing up a house and running an eBay shop???!!!!

And no still haven't thought of a diary name..but have noted Cuthbert down for next son.

Just read Hypno's thread - excellent idea - I am going for £55 per day (by myself for the debt that I am in denial about)

Sorry to disappoint Floxxie, but Cuthbert passed on this morning so you'll have to come up with another for the next son (something you need to tell us all there?!)

Whenever I've advertised for a cleaner in the past, rather than going to an agency I've just put my own ad up in the newsagent. I pay £6 an hour which I think is fairly reasonable. Plus of course it's cash in hand for them (I always mention to them that they're self-employed and remind them to declare it to the tax man to keep myself in the clear!), and £25 for a morning's work isn't bad.

Must have a look for money making later. Best make a start on the Ebay stuff now I think if I'm ever to get through that list.

Good luck! Might do the squares thing later. Hypno, you should take out copyright on your motivational ideas, you could charge me a fortune! (But please don't!)
