  • Wow! I haven't seen this thread for a week or so and what a lot has happened. Congrats on the Egg card :T . I was over the moon when I got rid of mine! Egg and myself aren't the best of pals!!

And well done to Greg with the crawling! Tom isn't even attempting to crawl. He won't even sit for very long without throwing himself violently backwards... and I mean throwing - he doesn't topple, he thrusts himself with a lot of force!!

Congrats on the sub £80k as well - that was quick!

Thank you all for posting, it does feel like a real achievement! It's good to be back below 80k. We're just about where we started again before the move so all the expenses that arose from that have now been cancelled out.

Hmmm...matched betting...the problem is concentration. I've got both kids whingeing at me constantly so it's difficult to get anything done. Same goes for Ebay, though I really should be able to get some listing done, kids or not. I've got a bit of a Lightspeed backlog at the moment, so I'll try and clear that before I take on anything else. KP, I like your idea of 30 minutes a day to Ebay. I might give that a go - set a timer Fly Lady style or something.

Gemmzie, the normal squares are being coloured in blue and green (one gets coloured for every £70 that the debt reduces by - there's a pic of the chart a page or two back) and whenever I go through a square that takes me through a 10k it gets coloured red. It is amazingly motivating!

Choca, I know what you mean about thrusting - Greg does that too (I hope nobody reads this post on its own out of context!:o ) and he still can't sit up too well. He's crawling faster every day now. I left him in the lounge earlier, and nearly tripped over him in the kitchen 30 seconds later!
  • Once kids figure something out its scary how quick they progress. DD1 rolled over once and it was a huge effort. The next day I left her in the middle of the floor to pop some washing upstairs and heard her cry. Thought nothing of it, just attention seeking. Went down a couple of minutes later to see har stuck under a chair! She must have rolled over at least 5-6 times??. From that point on I couldnt leave her for a second.

:rotfl: Yes, I know that feeling! Greg has a great habit of heading straight for chairs/tables/tight corners and screaming the place down when he gets himself stuck. I'm really evil too, as I always take a photo first before I go and rescue him! He's just fallen asleep so I'm going to go through to the proper computer and make a start on todays 30 mins of Ebay. Shout at me if I'm seen anywhere on here before 12!

Some photos as promised. All these taken before the new cream - his face is much less red now. Sorry, still can't work out how to re-size on here. The little corner things don't work:confused:

Left him for 2 minutes the other day and came back to find him wedged up the side of the sofa! Adam looks really concerned.

    Bless him!

Today has been reasonably productive. KeepingPositive - you'll be proud to hear that I listed loads on Ebay in the end! I think it was 20-odd things, although most of it was just tat that was lying around. I'm going to try and keep up with the 30 mins a day, I love that idea (how come the simplest, most obvious ideas are always the best, yet I never think of them myself?)

I'm going to Ikea tomorrow so that'll be a test of spending willpower! There are a few things that I need for the bathroom, so I'm actually saving money by going there rather than buying posh stuff, and I've got a £10 voucher I can use too. Going with a friend, her baby and Greg so no OH to moan about being bored, and no Adam to have to stop climbing all over the displays. Bliss.

Just signed up for 5 NSDs in Sept. Would have gone for more but we're on hol from the 22nd and with all this bathroom stuff we keep discovering little things that we need. I'll be very disappointed if I can't do 5.
  • Glad to hear the ebay session went well. Love the photos your boys are sooo cute.

Ref the 30 mins a day thats something I should do with my studying. The thought of it puts me off but when I actually start I actually do ok.

    Lovely photos!

I like the 30m idea too ... I might try to do that with my amazon listings, as you say its just tat (carpy books, in my case!) but unless you list it, it can't sell!

Hope today goes well for you.

That's one advantage you've got Choca - your other kids are old enough to look out for Tom. Adam just sits and watches Greg do silly things, then tells us about it 5 minutes later!

Ikea today. I need - actually, don't technically NEED, but PLAN to buy:
1 Kitchen cover panel to make bath side
2 Bathroom cupboards + shelves, hinges, push-handles and one door (other already got from Bargain Corner)
4 letter trays to fill a space in cupboard
4 door handles for study cupboards
1 toilet roll holder (maybe, if they're not cheap and nasty looking)
1 wooden blind (maybe, as above)
1 mirror (if there's one the right size)

Plus lunch (hopefully not at Ikea - eugh!) and NOTHING ELSE. Let's see if I can avoid the usual unplanned spending on general crap that I really don't need. Taking 2 babies with us, so hopefully that'll be enough to resist the temptation to pop into Habitat. I can never decide whether Habitat is just an overpriced Ikea, or Ikea is just cheap and nasty Habitat. Any opinions?!

Happy 1st of Sept everyone - let's get those challenges moving!
