Pigpen you need to get the teenagers to iron their own shirts - I was doing mine when I went to highschool.

But a. DS1 isn't here, b. that would only be 5 things off my pile and c. I want it done TODAY!

Only my oldest 2 are teenagers.. and none of the things were DD1's. DS2 cannot do it.. he has dyspraxia and would singe himself.. he is 12 but does struggle with his motor skills

ssl have you looked on line for help on your personal statement. I have recently helped DS1 for his teaching course.

I noticed people looking for single males. I have a gorgeous 22year old here. Recently single. Its probably against MSE rules to offer your sons. I know its not allowed on Freecycle!

DK I have ordered the book!

Today I have had to spend hours photocopying invoices for the mortgage company to prove we really are doing a barn conversion before they will give us any more money. I already did this weeks ago but they got lost in the post. DH is behaving better this weekend. He has just finished doing veggies for dinner. DD is vacuuming the lounge and all the others are at work again.

DH and I had a serious talk about money and he is now more aware of how scarily far we are getting into debt but only for the short term, about 6 and a half years, until we are mortgage free.

He now knows exactly where we stand financially. We have had to figure out how much we need to live on, if he isn't working for someone else, and add that to our application for money to complete the conversion.

Blimey, my head is spinning with figures!!

pigpen You need to get a note from your doctor saying you can't do ironing.

I think I told you I got my physio to write a note saying I couldn't iron, afte she told me it was damaging my back. Only problem is that was 19 years ago and she wrote it for 25 years!! I really didn't think ahead.

Oh I didnt think about that pooh, thanks. I've had things swirling round in my head, so I wanted to get the main bones down...then I'll go back and tidy it up. My ex-husband's cousin is a teacher, so she is going to look at my personal statement. I'm applying for 3rd year entry to the degree course....then once I hear from that, I'll get my application in for teacher training. What is DS1 applying to teach?

Afternoon, we now have food to last a couple of days at least. Treated myself to a magazine, not had one in ages so I am looking forward to reading it tomorrow.

Chook in the AGA so going to supervise OH cutting the rest of the hedge.

Sadly I really enjoyed being in the supermarket with nobody talking to me and have started to get my head around a few things.

Vanilla - do you actually farm or just live on a farm? Poor OH he must feel awful about Bo, how is the mute this afternoon?

Pooh I hope you enjoy the book (which did you order?), I always worry when I recommend a book incase the person doesn't like. They were ones recommended to me a good few years ago by a friend and I enjoyed them.

Be back later, think I'll find a child to peel potatoes and another to make stuffing.

All animals sorted, no flying yet to tired but i'll force myself later to get on with it. Chippie for tea and a good film is in order.

Bo had his painkillers this morning so is pretty relax, his washing is in the machine so that will be try before tonight.

Dusty we live on the farm and have a few cattle but PIL have done it all their lives as FIL parents did (we moved into the grandparents house when they passed away), they have most of the live stock. We're hoping once we get the house sorted with the building work that we'll take on more animals, hoping for hens and pigs aswell as more cattle.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

ssl DS1 is going to go into second year of three year course training to teach science at secondary level. He has come back to England and given up his Chemistry degree in Scotland but they are waiving the first year of the course for him. He could have done his last year at uni then done PGCE but has decided to just go for it. I hope he enjoys teaching I loved it, science was my second subject. Nearly all of our families are teachers and have been for generations.

DK I ordered 'Gift from the Sea'. What was the other one called? I can't find your post.

vanilla I have hens and would love a pig but DH says 'no'. We don't really have anywhere to put one. I am not willing to give up my gardens for a pig.

    Hi ladies,
Its taken ages to catch up on the thread with all you doing 'runs' - I'm with rach, juliejim, G&B and anybody else - I am sure you are having fun but it puts me off trying to read all the posts when there's 10+ pages to catch up with !!!! I cant find my list now!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Vanilla Aaaah he's lovely - what a haircut poor wee soul - just as well you live on a farm he would probably have a complex about going out in public! Glad to hear he's on the mend - I am sure being at home getting lots of TLC will help him along much quicker. Give him a big ((((()))) :D

I expect lil_me has gone now - I hope she has a lovely birthday.

I have had a busy morning tidying up for a visit from [STRIKE]the [/STRIKE][STRIKE]queen[/STRIKE] my mother - a nightmare - almost white glove type visit - and the thing is SHE has a cleaner as she is too lazy to do it herself!! and yet she still criticises my hovel - she seems to forget I spent a week at hers in may doing the kitchen - a whole week!!! from 9-6 every day just to get it respectable enough for the cleaner to start!!! I took 4 hours just to scrape the top of the ceramic cooker and evrywhere was manky!!

I dont get on with her very well (as you may have gathered) but just try to cope with her as best I can. She has come to stay with my brother and family for a week - I will have her for the day on Tuesday:eek:
I really envy all of you that get on with your mothers/daughters - I wish I had that kind or relationship - especially when I was bad with my cancer (she was no support at all) but hey ho I am here because she brought me into this world so I have that to be thankful for.

Anyway I tidied up and had a lovely relaxing shower afterwards, hm soup for lunch and then a quick visit to asda for a new mouse as my old one stopped 'squeaking' and i was missing what was going on here!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Welcome to all the new flyers
    Off for my tea
    catch you all later
    Toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
