Budget Car Insurance

Hi,

Advice needed, renewed car insurance on the 12th July and then changed our car on the 2nd August, along with the insurance. The quote was very expensive so today (within the 14 days notice) cancelled it. Budget are now saying that we owe £160.00 for less than one months insurance. Is there anything we can do or are stuck with this! Thanks in advance.

The 14-day cooling-off period only applies to renewals or newly incepted policies, not to amendments, so unless you cancelled the Budget policy before the 26th of July (assuming you received the renewal documents before the 12th of July) then the normal cancellation tems apply.
