why not just open a biz doing it and defrauding the country a bit more... or, and this is out there bit, i know.... GET A JOB! if you sorted enough to do a car boot you sorted enough to get out the and work

Check out my other post on the employment and jobseeking board about me seriously thinking of coming off JSA, if you really think I'm defrauding the country. I'm going through a really tough time because I really want and need a job and you haven't got a clue about anyone on JSA. Yeah, I'll get job - oh look, a job just fell into my lap! It don't work like that!

BTW, to the genuine posters who had the decency to answer my question, I didn't take my Mum's cards so I just had all my old unwanted stuff, which I made a total (minus stall fee) of £19.15.

I'm sorry for my rant above. I just needed to get that off my chest.

Doing a car boot selling your own stuff is fine and does not concern DWP as it is a one-off/occassional activity.

Someone who does a car boot every week is running a business and must declare the income.

Selling mum's cards is making and selling for profit (ie. work). Selling your own old furniture doesn't but selling other peoples' would............

Sounds daft for the money involved but there has to be a line somewhere

just ignore some of the people on here.

Just go ahead and do your bootsale. My god how many people do you see at bootsales who are in the same boat as ourselves.

    good luck sweety.

I would say for a one of your fine but doing it every week probably not.
