I don't have AVG, but I do have Avira, and I know sometimes when they do a big update, their website gets clogged and it can actually take 3-7 days for the update to take place. Have you tried going to their website and checking out their members' forum to see what they are saying on that?It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.:A :A :AChocolate is the answer and I don't give a damn whatthe question is.;)0

I use AVG and the update just worked fine for me. Have you made sure your firewall allows AVG to check for updates, I had this problem myself and selecting ALLOW for the update process sorted the problem0

sorry i know im dim but where do i find firewall ????0

You're not dim. Are you running Windows XP, or another version? If it's Windows XP, go to Start, then Control Panel, then Windows Firewall. Select the Exceptions tab, then add a program called 'avgemc.exe' and another called 'avgupd.exe' to the list.

Thanks, Katie, so that rules out the firewall blocking the update. If you open the AVG User Interface, are all the components ticked and labelled 'Active'? If not, double click on any that aren't active and follow the advice given. If they all look OK, then try running the Update Now option from the interface. If it still doesn't work, then check Tools, Advanced settings to see what is set for each of the update options. If there's nothing obvious there, then take a note of what is set and post the details here and I'll see if I can see anything. You may also want to check History, Event History to see if there are any clues there.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

i've been in tools and advanced settingthis came up :
Error during plugin loading. (0xE001809)
Error during plugin loading schedules (0xE0018E09)
don't know what this means ???0 -
Can I double check with you Katie that you opened up Tools and Advanced Settings from within the AVG User Interface and not your internet browser? If so, then it doesn't sound as though it installed properly. If you had an earlier version of AVG installed on the PC before, it could be that it didn't uninstall properly first. In which case, I'd recommend removing all AVG entries from Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, then searching for any folders called AVG and deleting them, then rebooting the PC and installing again.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
