Poll for agony aunt sub-board

ailuro2

Haven't started a poll before, I tried and failed - could we have a poll on whether we should ask the mods for an agony aunt sub-board, since they have to move a lot of posts, and then when they are moved people take it off topic disputing whether it should have been moved or not.
Anyone know how to do a poll??

I've think I've managed to work out how to post a poll, so on behalf of ailuro2, I wanted to ask everyone if they think an agony aunt sub-forum would be a good idea (so posts that's aren't strictly moneysaving can stay in this area of the forum).
As a pro-sub-forum person I heop it will mean less threads moved to the Arms, where some of the more delicate threads can get a bit lost......MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

By merging these two threads, I appear to have got the poll visible.
However ... this isn't the place for it, I'm afraid, so I'm about to move it
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Site Feedback: Questions and Suggestions board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Just to clarify then: we'd like an agony aunt board as a sub-board of moneysaving in marriages, families and relationships please!!!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Totally understand where you are coming from with this (posts requiring support are all over the forums) but I do think that if they are all in one place then all the trolls around here will know just where to head to upset people at their lowest."Life is like a game of cards. I can see your point with this, but as someone who had a particularly sensitive thread moved to DT (when I specifically asked for it not to be), I would rather the threads be kept in a place where the majority of posters are there to give support.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Good point dmg, but as Dee says, isn't there a danger that the usual suspects - ie, certain AEs or other disruptive users - would just home into those threads and cause distress to already upset users? But then maybe they do already anyway...
That said, I have nothing against a sub-forum of this nature.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Thanks, Bunty, for posting the poll, and of course for Savvy Sue for moving it....
now hopefully because Savvy Sue has left a 'shadow' behind people will pop over and let us know what they think.
Quasar- your point is exactly what I'm asking - we need ideas from everyone, not just those who think it's a good idea.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
