Is £160 a month normal for gas and electric?

I pay about 70 quid a month for a 4 bed house - so I'd say yours was a tad highSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

I'm paying £100- a month, 4 bed semi.
Are you using it a bit too much? If you have an emmersion heater for your hot water, it'll whack the bill up. Get some of those power saving light bulbs too, but you can't use them with a dimmer switch?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

£40 a month for 3 bed house with 2 people saving as much as possibleLets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

To be fair £160 a month is a mad amount in your circumstances (unless your mate is Robbie Williams, you don't say!). Up until very recently we have been very profligate with fuel as a family and the most we have ever paid is £100/mth for gas/electricity (4 bed property with 4 people living here and an embarrassing amount of gadgetry). I would imagine there's scope for HUGE savings on your bills.Call me Carmine....

Put on a jumper a bit more often and turn the thermostat down. If you dont even know what its set to, thats probably the cause of the high bills0
