Sorry, but if you mean requesting a confirmation that an email is delivered, I don't believe it's possible with SMTP (the mail protocol used for most internet-based email).
You ~can~ request a Read Receipt (when composing a message, select Tools, Request Read Receipt), but most email clients allow you to stop it sending one, so it's of no use in proving that an email was delivered or read.
The situation is different within a typical company where more advanced protocols are used (e.g. MS Exchange), which have more features that allow for delivery reports.0
