Alloy Rims

I have alloy rims on my car that have got quiet badly stained by I presume brake dust.

Can anyone please suggest a way to clean them?

When you get them clean, give them a good wax and it will wash straight off with ease next time.

or you could try an alloy wheel cleaner,it usually has acid in it so wear gloves and dont get it in your eyes!

I've been using AutoGlym wheel acid for 12 years and my skin is immune to it now. Works wonders.

I used to varnish the inside of the alloys on my first car after i'd cleaned them. Stopped the muck rotting the way thru to the outside of the wheels.

I now have purchased Stardrops - do I use it neat or diluted, also should I use a cloth or scourer?

:eek: Don't use a scourer you'll go through the laquer. Try a stiff bristle brush;)
