Evening all,
Today has been horrible... I feel like cryingI have £7000 (would have been £15,000 if I hadn't withdrawn £8000 last week!!!) with Icesave, which as you all know is going downhill, fast. If I lose that money I am well and truly stuffed so I really hope there's some good news soon.
In the meantime I am going to stop watching the news, steer clear of the savings forum, and try to think happy thoughts... which isn't easy:o:o I keep having to tell myself 'it's just money' - and I could be far worse off as some people have over the £50k limit - but I've worked so hard to save it since I was 16 that I will be devastated if I don't get it all back.
Hope you're all good and none of you are in the same situation xxx0 -
Awww CL
You will get it back as its covered, still horrid though
I have found MSE very slow to load tonight, anyone else think this? Wondered if its a lot busier cos of events today! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I hope so :S I keep reading about them having a different scheme to the other UK banks. And that Iceland don't have enough funds to cover everyone's deposits, so I do wonder how they're going to pay us all back (I will be claiming from the Icelandic scheme as I have less than £16.5K)... what if they can't pay out, or if they declare the country bankrupt? Small savers will end up with nothing, apparentely. *must think positive thoughts*
MSE has been very slow for me too. It's probably due to the masses of people looking for Icesave advice:o:rolleyes::rotfl:

I just ventured over to the savings board, a lot of them are trying to blame Martin for them losing money because he said it was a good rate etc.
I know its horrid but he didn't hold guns to peoples heads telling them to do it!
Poor Martin, apparantly he was on Channel 4 news earlier and they were trying to blame him tooNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
