nationwide worst bank ever

I used to praise Nationwide as the saviour for all banking but I've had similar issues.

all happened when I changed address which they did incorrectly...

Then they didn't process a cancellation of standing order...
Which led to money going out when there was no money in there as my wages had been transferred to Barclays to get my overdraft finished..
Which then led to the lovely notion of an unauthorised overdraft coming up...

Nobody had bothered to contact me, noone thought it was odd and didn't cancel anything, no letters to show that this has happened.

I don't realise until December that I haven't received my statements, go in there and find that nothing I requested has been changed, and I have a £100 debt on the account.

Cue 8 MONTHS later (!!!!!!!!!) and I'm still fighting with them to clear my charges and close the accounts...

When it's right in there it's very right...

But hell when it goes wrong... It's time to cut and run!

have n/w changed to a bank now?

i applied online for a flexi a/c some while back, went through ok (so i thoiught), got list of ID etc to take to local branch..

after waiting an hour or so, was told the a/c was frozen, and to call Head Office for more details?? cue a wasted afternoon trying to get through..

next day went back to branch, yet more waiting, then just given cash back and told to leave!?

Although when I did a change of address (COA) when I returned from NZ so all the post from them would go to my house instead of my parents, they did make a mistake with the mortgage dept - apparently, they use a different computer system to the rest of the society, which was in the process of being upgraded at the time (I think). That's the only real problem I've had with them.
