Want a new contract

I wonder if anyone out there can offer me some advice.
I currently have a 3 mobile, no longer under contract, 600 package, paying £30 per month.
I have noticed all these lovely deals at less than £5 a month for what I have so thought I would try to get one.
First problem is that you cannot take your existing number from one 3 deal to another, it is an upgrade you are doing and not a new contract!
I need to keep existing number if at all possible as I use it for business.
Also looked into upgrade, thought I should get blue tooth to keep me as safe as poss when driving. Link, where I originally bought phone exclude bluetooth from 3 upgrades! Also no drop in monthly charge.
The type of phone does not interest me greatly, as long as it can make and receive calls and annoys my teenagers because mine is better than theirs! I do not necessarily want the LG phone as one I have crashed catastrophically after 6 months and had to be replaced. If it crashes now it is outwith 12 month warranty so would probably be end of phone anyway.
So really I want to pay less, try and keep same number and get another phone which is within warranty.
One assistant in another shop suggested transferring my number to a payg sim card then after a month taking a new 3 deal and transferring number back! This seems only way to get one of the cheap deals on contract.
Any other ideas appreciated.

  • If you want another 3 contract. But want a cheap deal you have to have a new contract.

3's upgrades are useless even when they try and offer you a DEAL to keep you.

The only was to do it is get a PAYG sim card. And tranfer your present number to it. (You need a PAC code from 3)

Then set up a new contract with 3 and transfer you number back. Pain in the !!!!!! but only way to do it, if you want to keep number.
