I had parawood flooring laid in my lounge, dinning room and hall, mid June and within weeks its showing terrible deep marks and scratches. Bearing in mind I dont have small children running around, nor am I taking tango lessons. I bought the flooring as it claimed to be 'durable'. Its not durable. Suitable for a loft space maybe but not a space that is used a lot. B&Q sent and independant inspector and whilst he was here, he said "hm its almost like its too soft", then wrote different on the report! Im not happy, it cost almost £1000 and already, within weeks looks awful. Im in process of researching my rights. So think carefully before selecting parawood!
Parawood is rubber. Why not start your own thread in future rather than resurrecting an old one?

    Just google 'cheap oak flooring'
There's a company called 'flooring supplies' you can get solid oak for about £20 a square meter.
Just remember if you install it yourself make sure you leave 3mm per meter width of floor for expansion.

I have been researching engineered wood floors for my flat over the last year while other works have been taking place.
    I have found http://www.frenchtimberdirect.com/index.php

Their engineered floors have a 7mm top layer of real oak bonded to 15mm birch ply base.
They also do solid oak as well.

You can visit the mill and pick the wood you want.
The quality really is excellent, much better than any DIY shed.
