If the leak is on "your" side of the stopcock, then Anglian Water are correct - it is the householder's responsibility.
Water companies are only responsible for the supply pipes up to the point of the stopcock (not the one in your house, the one outside your property). If you have water leaking they may arrange to come and have the water turned off for you, but they have no liability to repair if the leak is on "your" side. You'd need to call a plumber/builder/drain company at your own expense.
Sorry - probably not the response you want0 -
Hi, not our expense just yet. Its still council owned, and only work that will be carried our is the emergency work.
i guess this is classed as that.0 -
just an update, still leaking..
still not fixed..0 -
Anglian Water will fix it for free , you get one free repair per property under the watertight promise (see link)
It is not priority so will get booked in and the contractor usually Clancy Docwra will come out and fix it.

You can get the pipe repaird yourself but you will have to pay, maybe ring up the council if they own the propertyAlias_Omega wrote: »just an update, still leaking..

Still leaking, now have nice stagnant water which is turning the pavement green, the grass is looking rather bad now, no matter of spiking it with the fork, doesnt help it..
will be onto them again today, becoming a pain now..0 -
Well, ive been away for the week, wife rang me on friday to say that the workmen were round to sort the leak.
After about 7 hours work, still no water leak fixed, but half the garden in bits. Returning tomorrow to continue i hope, over 4 weeks now this has been flowing, and its a bad one..
This is the view from the alley..
They started to remove the concrete in the end, too find a stop valve that has been buried in its life.
A nice channel made, to allow the fast flowing water to vent out into the drains.
Then they proceeded to dig up the freshly layed turf, to take a look. Guess they wont be replacing that..

Lets see how the week goes on..0
