My weekend has just been ruined...

 I know this is hardly a 'money saving' subject, but I was wondering if anyone has been subject to the following situation or could just offer me some words of comfort!!
So, last week I purchased a suit from a House of Fraser store.
The trousers were not quite right, so the sales assistant offered to have them altered for me.
I explained that I needed the suit for the following Saturday (tomorrow!) for a wedding. He said that would be fine, and that they'd be ready for Thursday (yesterday).
So yesterday my partner travelled (60 miles there and back) to the store, to pick up the trousers.
When I came home from work I went to try the suit on, however, the trousers were now a different colour, different size and different brand to my suit jacket.
Simple mistake you would think, drive back to the store (60 miles there and back) to pick up the trousers.
So I ring up this morning, just to make sure the store are aware of their mistake. However, it appears that my trousers have disappeared completely.
What can I do now??!! I've spent 10% of my monthly income, and have a light grey Daniel Hechter suit jacket and a pair of dark grey Ben Sherman trousers, and need a match before tomorrow lunchtime (and am at work until 6.20pm tonight)!
What can I do????

Phone HoF, ask for the Manager and ask him what HE is going to do !0 -
Thanks for the reply Moonrakerz,
I've tried doing that several times over the last few hours, the manager has gone to the tailors, and will ring me when he gets back!
The sales assistant 'cannot really do anything about it' according to her.
Its just so annoying, I had the perfect outfit now I have nothing!0 -
I would keep phoning the manager regularly today, and if they can't find the trousers, insist that have a personal assistant at your disposal at 8.30am tomorrow morning to help you try on every pair in the shop until you find an alternative. If that means changing the jacket too, then so be it. Perhaps they'll even give you a discount of something more expensive??
And don't leave suit buying so late next time!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Take it back, get a refund then buy a new suit somewhere else (and hope it fits)0
-
BTW, I think the title of the OP is a little ott - the weekend hasn't started yet !!0
-
I'm assuming this means that someone somewhere has pair of dark grey Daniel Hechter trousers and a light grey Ben Sherman suit jacket!0

You want a new suit AND compensation for all your trouble if you ask me. If you don't get any joy, write to the Managing Director.0
