And if it's allowed, where could I post?

Basically, I won't post too many details here in case someone misconstrues it as being an attempt to post the actual appeal; I won't do that without permission.

I want to post explaining which charity it's for, links to their website (its a well known one) and what I want to do for them and why I am interested in helping them.

I need donations to raise money to out towards the initial outlay of the activity I plan to undertake for them.

It goes on all the time on the Charities board, you could modify your post to suit Martin's rules.

To be on this board posts must obey the following rules:

1. Any links must benefit a UK registered charity. The details of the charity number and link to the website must be given.

2. Any sponsorship links must go via the legitimate online charity sponsorship sources such as Justgiving. Direct soliciting for money or sponsorship by any other method isn't permitted as it would be open to abuse.

3. Absolutely no links for personal gain may be posted..... even if the money will be split with a charity..... or even if you 'promise to give all the cash to charity'. There is no way to prove this so it will be deleted.

4. No soliciting for money for any individual will be permitted.

5. We will err on the side of caution, the last thing we want is someone scamming people here.

As torbrex has pointed out, I'm wrong, and as someone else has pointed out to me, I think I've still got my holiday head on, it's not the first doh! moment I've had today.

If you want to pop it on the charity board, as long as it agrees with Martin's rules on there then that's fine.

I was planning to post more information on MY plans and motives, links to the website and the relevant parts and I am discussing with the charity concerned about getting a Justgiving page; I want to do it through there also because of the fact I can link it to my Facebook and Myspace pages and get more money through there. I would never want people to think Iam scamming which is why I have scrimped on the details here so I can't be accused of trying anything on!!
