Comodo Firewall stopping wireless internet connection.

As the title says.............

I have installed and sucessfully used the internet prior to downloading and using the comodo firewall.

The internet continues to work after the initial downloading and using of comodo firewall.

The problem starts once the computer has been turned off.

It will not allow windows to connect and it also does not show the IP addresss in the wireless card settings.

Is there a setting in comodo I need to alter? If so how?

Is there another firewall you recommend I try?

Yes, I never use paid anti-virus/spyrware/firewall software.
It's usualyl very poor, or at least not to the standard I require.

I recommend ZoneAlarm, just google it, it's the industry standard.

    which industry?

to the OP are you setting up trusted zones and the like, it sounds like your wireless card isn't being added correctly to the list of allowed devices

Well I'd say the firewall industry, but generally many major companies use zonealarm (admitadly the paid version) which is for servers.

Rather than installing comodo again, which is obviously not saving your settings for some reason, give Zone Alarm available here a go.

Have you tried searching the comodo forums? ( http://forums.comodo.com/index.php ). If you type in "wireless" in the search box it comes up with a few issues and suggestion for solving them.

I can't install zone alarm from your link. :(

I also can't install windows defender due to microsoft lower than 3.1? Possibly due to going back to factory settings.

The link should prompt you to save the ZA setup file. see here

If you have gone back to factory settings, you will probably have to get all of the M$ patches. e.g. bring it up to at least SP2, so use the windows firewall until up to date.

I have comodo and its a VERY good piece of software. I highly suggest AGAINST using Zonealarm as it stops quite a lot of software from running and is very hard to get rid of once installed (as in completely gone)
Once you reboot for the first time comodo should (if memory serves correct) bring a pop saying its trying to recieve a new connection and asking if you shold allow it. If your not getting that then ~

It seems to me you must have some software program thats blocking comodo from working? What software do you have running at startup that could possibly have that effect?

For now just use the built in windows xp one until you determine what the actual problem is

Not if you learn how to use it, which could be said for all software!
