Mobile Phone Insurance
I got a new mobile from Carphonewarehouse a few days ago and took out the insurance offered, a couple of days later I got a call offering to reduce the premium. I should have known better but thought lets save some money and agreed to the offer and paid up.
When the documentation arrived it turns out that the cover is not that fantastic, today the original insurance documents arrived with a warning leaflet stating that there are some not so good companies making calls and offering cheaper cover. After contacting CPW and checking online, the company that I changed too is not regulated by the FSA.
So please take care and dont fall for this like I did.
I have sent a letter requesting cancellation and full refund using the 14 days cooling off period for distance selling.
Because I had a new phone number I assumed it must have been a genuine sales call from the company I either got the phone from or the network provider, how wrong I was. It appears they use telephone dialing software to locate newly activated numbers.
