Dual Fuel vehicles

Well seriously thinking of getting a vehicle with petrol/lpg for a 500 mile weekly commute.
I have found some stockists of used lpg vehicles and realise that some vehicles have factory fitted dual fuel from new. I know about vauxhalss but dont know of many more.
Can anyone point me in the direction of manufacturers or stockists.
I think I need an estate but not a 4x4. The journeys are on A roads and motorways. The vehicle has to be suitable as main family vehicle (2 adults + occassional pax).
Also be interested in car supermarket/internet suppliers of factory fitted or aftermarket conversions.
I would like to p/ex current vehicle if poss. Am in the mid wales/west mids/ manchester area.
Many Thanks for any info or signposts to additional info.
p.s. why dont manufacturers market these economical vehicles very well?

I know Ford and Volvo did factory fit LPG cars but thats about it.If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

None of them did factory fit, they did "sold as LPG from new" but the conversions were done "out of house" - the advantage being that the CO2 rating on the V5 was done on LPG.
Vauxhall
Volvo
Ford
Citroen did some berlingo vans but I think that's all they did.
If I were you I'd look on autotrader - keyword search "LPG" and the major auction houses BCA & Manheim.0 -
Hi there
I had my 2 Litre Kia converted in 2005, and I am not sorry, especially when I can get autogas for 50p a litre

Any other advantages/disadvantages?

What sort of mpg do you get?.....0 -
Hi there
I had it done by a Manchester based company costing £1400 for a 90 litre tank obviously will be more now but it takes up half the boot space but its worth it taken the price of petrol. you still have to have about a quarter of petrol in car because it switches over from petrol to gas and vice versa when gas runs out. It does approx 300-350 on a full tank depending on the season and allowing for 10% for expansion.
Hope this info helps

So 90 litres does 300-350 miles?
3.9 miles per litre. 17.7 mpg.
Doesn't sound that impressive to me......0 -
It does if you have never spent over £30 on a full tank of gas

But 90 litres at 50p a litre is £45 for a full tank (from empty)......0
