Maybe if you had posted your question properly, and your own real concerns. We don't get to tell other people (competent Adults) , how to live their lives, however unfair you may feel that is..
Rereading the OP I think there's a bit of harsh treatment going on here (I realise it wasn't just you):Clarkey_24 wrote: »My first question is, is there any way my parents can put a block on my sister getting any credit cards or any sort of credit against their home. Secondly, if she does not keep up with her repayments, when I apply for a mortgage will I have a russibh credit rating or even regected because of her mistakes?
I'd say they've been pretty honest about why they're worried in that 2nd question. It's just that the 1st question should have followed it on the basis that it was only being asked if it would affect the OP.0 -
She is an adult. No one can stop her getting credit. It will only affect her credit rating.
But, if it is a disaster like you think it might be, then it could affect the lives of people living there. If she does default and the debt gets passed on to debt collection agencies they are likely to phone and visit the house often. This is also where your parents will have to either chose to bail her out or let her sort it on her own.
None of this should affect yours or your parents credit score. But if she does get a default, it will show on both of your credit files as a "link". These shouldnt affect your application unless the assessor thinks there is a financial link between the 2 of you.0 -
There will be no link between members of families living at the same address unless there is actually a connection such as a joint account or joint borrowing of any other kind.0
