Would strongly advise against using the sockets on the train. These are only there for the cleaners and maintenance people.

I've worked with trains for quite a few years and have come across a few people complaining that the power supply has blown there laptop or mobile phone. The sockets on trains aren't regulated like your home as they are simply transformed from the overhead line or 3rd rail.

And you wont get any compensation from the train company if it does.

The newer ones have notices telling you you CAN plug your phone or laptop in.
just passing through.... Nothing to see....
  • Best thing is to get a USB charger for your phone (most phones come with a data cable/charger which can be used or one can be purchased off ebay for a couple of quid) you will save money in the long term by charging your phone using your PC whilst you work. Fully charged phone all the time and no worries about having to have a PAT tested mains plug and your not stealing the electricity as the PC is already on!
