How long do Abbey take to send docs?

Applied for an Abbey card earlier this week... does anybody know how long they take to accept (or reject!) and send the docs out for signing?
The website just says "if you're accepted we'll send docs out" - really helpful
Why they can't give an instant decision like most others do, I've no idea
TIA for any help

I'm waiting too, since before last weekend.0

It's usually about ten working days to get the forms after a decision is made.
If you made it earlier in the week I expect a decision has been reached. Might be worth calling up Abbey (0845 602 15 82) to check that out.0 -
Here comes the Ramble
It took 3 weeks to get my paperwork through(lost stooze interest) then another 7 to 10 working days to perform the BT. the issue i had was they BT'd to the wrong account (not Mine) and am still waiting to get the cash back. I spoke to the customer services last wednesday, and got peed off with the guy and asked to chat with a supervisor, I was told he was busy and will call me back within the hour. I was still waiting for the call this morning and called them back. I got no appology just told i would have to wait for the money to be reurned before i could perform the correct transfer. ( 6 weeks stooze interest lost). they gave me the option of resetting the interest free period but as it was a interest free purchase card too thought id do a bit of both. and have slow stoozed on the remainder of the credit limit. and I believe it would have got complicated if id have gone ahed with that. will now use the whole card for a slow stooze as credit limit is only 6k and that will cover the remainder of the time.
Right rant about abbey over ( small a on abbey as i dont think they warrant a capitalisation)
cheers for reading

Sorry about the problems you have had Rob.
Given the circumstances you have every right to at least expect the BT offer to be extended at least a month due to the problems, unless you can still squeeze the BT on the card (though I assume that is still not possible?). If Abbey have offered you that extra month (hopefully this will have been logged) then you should be entitled to that. Don't give it up!0 -
Thanks everybody for the replies - got the paperwork earlier this week and sent it back, so should hopefully be getting the card next week... no idea what my credit limit has been set at though... I'll see what turns up in my Egg a/c (I can't even remember what I asked them to transfer
I think it was either £3k or £4k).

Sounds like the agreement came through in a week which is respectable. Now hopefully you will get the card (PIN first) before the end of the month.
Your PIN letter usually has details of the credit limit.0 -
Well this make for interesting reading.
Applied myself in mid/late July, was wondering what was occurring as heard nothing. They had credit checked me coz I checked.
1st phone call (11 August), you have been accepted should get papers this week. 2nd phonecall (18 August), papers were sent 31 July, never received and contradictory to 1st call.
Now waiting for a 2nd set, and still no idea on limit so cant plan for my BT which I need in 4 weeks to avoid interest.
Not feeling confident now, will make back up arrangements0 -

Abbey are getting quite a bad reputation for customer service with this new Zero card. If you haven't seen it there is a 10 page thread detailing all the issues that have occured so far :

I think it's important (if you have the opportunity) to contact Abbey's customer service team (0845 602 1582) and chase this up. I really think this has to go to the back office now as it shouldn't (nor as far as I'm aware from the cases I've had) take a month to get those agreement forms. If you speak to the agent, press this urgently and the details will be passed on to hopefully get the application moving.0 -
I applied and it took about 6-8 weeks before they got in touch and they rejected me! (have pretty good credit rating so not sure why). I've since realised I have a fair few old cards to my name that I haven't closed so I am hastily doing that, but I wouldn't go back to Abbey purely because are sooooo slow. Went into their branch to enquire about something and I was waiting for hours: customer service is appalling!!!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000
