What do people think of Lloyds?

Well my account has been opened and it's already showing online.
Just need to get my debit card and transfer over my DDs and SOs and I'll be set.
On another note, FD still haven't acknowledge the complaint I raised last week which led to me leaving them. Well not until Nov as I have a Reg Saver and have to keep the c/a and £1 in a savings account until then. But then I can close it down and get rid of them.
So far no problems with Lloyds and parents have banked with them for 30+ years and never had a problem.0 -
You generally find the majority of people using a bank never or rarely have to use the bank's branch services or the telephone. When someone uses a bank frequently for personal matters then its usually because they dont run their account very well. Often in those cases they will have a negative view of the bank. It doesnt matter if its Lloyds or anyone else.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I've always said that I won't change 3 things in my life and they are: my partner, bank and phone network.
I did have to eat my words about the bank bit a couple of weeks ago as I had some difficulties with a replacement card but I'm glad to say that Lloyds is back on my good book! I'm a pretty impatient person so it doesn't take me long to complain about most things but Lloyds handled my complaint really well and sent me the card much earlier than expected
I guess it does depend on the people commenting as nothing is perfect but I'll defo give Lloyds TSB the thumps up!0 -
Here's another tale of woe of mine to add to the existing ones:
I recently (meaning around the beginning of August) had fraud on my credit card and it has taken around 5 weeks for them to get the form out to me to declare the amounts aren't mine.
Also, they managed to send out 2 of the replacement cards to the wrong address, a branch in my university town, which I am nowhere near at the moment. Despite me and the woman in the callcentre phoning the branch in question, the request to redirect the card to the home address on my system, it was met with a flat out "no", even though I explained that it was already the 2nd replacement card they had dispatched to the wrong place.
The second one was sent to the same address despite me having reassurances from the person on the other end of the phone that it'd be sent to my home address (which I had requested to be changed way back in May).
They insisted that because the card was sent to a branch, I had to come and sign for it with some ID - but no amount me explaining that I didn't ask for it to go to a branch in the first place would make them budge.
I think i shall be mothballing my Lloyds account and products as soon as possible.
I read with despair at the news that HBOS and Lloyds were merging. Two dreadful banks coming together as one? Eek. :eek:0
