DialAPhone Cashback Problems

I have already sent 2 of the 3 redeptions to Dialaphone with no problems and very speedy payments, the problem is with the last of the 3.

I sent the final bill by recorded delivery before i went on holiday (2 weeks before deadline) and having returned today i see from the RM website it hasn't been delivered. I rang the RM mainline who told me to contact the northampton mail centre directly.

After speaking with them they told me everything gets redirected to another place and it would be best to contact dialaphone directly. Having tried to speak to a human at dialaphone has proved impossible so i'm a little unsureas to what to to do next.

The lady at RM said I have to wait 15 days to make a claim which is useless anyway because the cashback is worth £100, secondly i am now out of my dialaphone claim period, even though i have proof it was sent on time there is noone to relay this to on dialaphone's end, thirdly the bill that i was to send is now missing somewhere in the uk!

I sent dialaphone an email on the 5th but no reply yet so i'm totally stuck for ideas, any advice would be appriciated.

Thanks in advance

You cannot make a claim off RM in these circumstances.

You need to concentrate on dap.

Send in a copy of the claim, together with details (and copy) of your proof of posting.

Await their response, and take it from there.

Have you complied with the ts + cs (were copy bills allowed etc)? If so, if no response to the letter consider taking legal action via MCOL.

Yes I made sure i've always complied with the t+c's as i have read horror stories about cashback deals in the past, i sent the actual bill (not a copy) although i do have a copy.

Such a pain in the !!!!, you think you have done everything right and then something like this happens, in future i'll be using special delivery - RD seems a waste of money!

Thanks quentin i guess i'll have to go down the letter route

But will they accept the copy bill - some cashback ts + cs will only accept the original?

If you use SD for this type of mail, you still get no compensation if the item gets lost. You need to pay for consequential loss insurance on top of the SD charge to be able to get any compensation back.

The best thing is write a explanatory letter to cs dialaphone with attached photocopies of bill and the recorded delivery slip.If they don't act then only warn them about MCOL.I had similar experience last month and all was sorted without any hassle.

I've had a couple of contracts with Dialaphone and I'm pretty certain that on their website it says if your recorded letter goes missing they will still pay out if you scan or fax a copy of the recorded delivery slip to them at an address thats on their site. It was last year during the postal strike that I read this so you may have to check that the T&C's haven't changed. Incidentally my 1st class recorded was delivered after 17 days.

    Edit:
    taken from their website:

You need to send in a copy of your proof of postage to the following address:
Dial A Phone Customer Care Team
    Dial A Phone
    Ore Close
    Lymedale Business Park
    Newcastle-under-Lyme
    Staffordshire
    ST5 9QD
