Performance drop afternoons/evenings - Upgrade ?

Hi All,

I have an expensive £17/month 2MB Broadband , I notice I get the 2 MB in the morning, but after 2 pm it drops to 1MB - sometimes less, much less.

Line test indicates , i can get 7 MB here.

I used Netmeter - this indicates , monthly useage ( all pc's ) as 3 GB

I am considering , that as a Sky TV subsciber, i should switch Broadband to Sky Mid ( the 8 MB service ) for a £5 / month

Here, though is a puzzle - money saving aside - could i expect this new service , also drop to 1 MB in afternoons or evenings ? Or merely half down to 3.5 MB ?

You have not said who your current ISP is, why not?

I see hardly any contention on my line but if you are using it heavily you may notice it. Even if it does drop though you will be getting the same if not better service for less than 1/3 of the price you are currently paying. Bear in mind the mid tier is usage capped.

I don't know who Utility Warehouse use to supply their broadband but you are getting a poor service and paying far too much for it. It sounds like they have signed up too many users for the service that they are providing! If you do a speedtest here, it should give the real broadband supplier e.g. it's unlikely to say Utility warehouse. I don't think that you would regret switching to Sky broadband.
