  • thanks full time mum (me too)

Will be looking for some cake makers soon - that would be great.
You've made great suggestions I hadn't thought of.
Saints declined to help - will write to cobblers / WFC

Will get back to you, once I have a date in mind. Collected lots of unwanted toys, books, clothes etc and will be selling them. I will incorporate some other stalls to bulk out the hall.

    Thanks once again

If you get some posters to me I'll ask if they'll put them up at the school.

I've run a couple of auctions of promises - maybe you could incorporate this into your day/eve? People will pay for all sorts of things - we had promises of baking cakes, gardening, lifts, through to a trip in someone's boat, a week of a timeshare, looking after a pet, a shopping trip, etc Both auctions were for small groups, no more than 100 people but we raised over £2,000 each time. Happy to give details if you want any more.

Also Mars often give boxes of produce to good causes, if you write and explain what you will do with the product and mention Mars somewhere in your thanks.

We also had a local school offer a 'VIP' day to a group of pupils who would be coming to them in the following year. It was a fun way to get to know the new school and they were made a huge fuss of.

And some of the people on here are local to you - how about issuing invites?

    Good luck
To those who are given much, much is expected

        £2025 in 2025 = £680.60

            Fiver Friday #13 £35
          1. For my charity auction, I wrote to the Sanctuary Spa in London they donated a Spa day which raised over £100. I also received a £20 gift voucher from my local Tesco Extra Store, it states its a community Voucher so I presume each store has an allocation. Someone we knew had a holiday home in Portugal which they donated for a week, which also went down well. There are several sports memorabilia sites that let you borrow items to sell at Auction, if they sell at more than the price the company ask for, you get to keep the remainder.

I also got the tickets printed up free from a local company after stating that they could advertise for free on the back. Good Luck :)
          2. I have sent out about 50 letters and my cousin has sent about 30 and the response is very poor. I have had 3 places donate something, asda let us do a collection in store and rushden and diamonds FC let us into the ground to do a collection. My cousin has had about 2 responses?????
Just makes you want to cry :-(

3 places are better than none and the money you are raising . Keep your head up and think of the cause you are doing this for. Always spurs me on another few steps. How much are you hoping to raise for Chelsea and would it be ongoing treatment? also you may find it a help to go through the messy minefield of becoming a registered charity if you are not already. It will bring the "big boys" into play tesco/asda big local companys. Contact local pubs, social clubs, leigons
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

            Hi Greenface

We need in the region of £200,000 - you have to show the hosp in America that you have the financial means to pay for the treatment. In the meantime they are looking at the many natural ways cancer can be supressed - diet, homeopathic, air and water filters etc.
I have been told as we are only raising for 1 person, we cannot register as a charity. How true this is, I am not sure. But another family who have been raising money for their own daughter for quite a while told me this as they have been down this road.

            Thanks for your reply

I know Amy and her mum so im sure this will be ok for me to post and it is awareness for her quest not to take anything away from Chelsea.

Goes to show what impact a free local paper in your area can do and it also shows that you can fund raise for one person as a registered charity but belive me the paper work is off putting but worth it in the end.
            good luck
